To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks. Customers may contact Samsung Malaysia Careline at 1-800-88-7799 for further enquiries of their current Galaxy Note 7 device before replacement takes place.

We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsungcontinues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. We will work to ensure the replacement experience is as convenient and efficient as possible.”

Do we need to return the box and all?

I guess new phone means new IMEI so do we need to gets our receipts changed for those who prefer ordered from YES/Courts/Sengheng?

To initiate an exchange, Galaxy Note 7 owners in Malaysia must bring along the device (and all the retail box contents, as well as proof of purchase) to any Samsung Service Centres nationwide. Unfortunately, there are no replacement units readily available; all Galaxy Note 7 owners will receive a replacement within two weeks.

they took back ours unit, then change battery and resell as new in future? or resell as refurnished?

As the customers’ safety is our absolute priority, the replacement initiatives for Samsung Galaxy Note7 in Malaysia will take place from 29th September 2016 onwards. Further details are as follows: -
• Replacement date: From 29th September 2016 onwards
• Replacement Location: Customers may return their existing Galaxy Note7 and collect their new Galaxy Note7 at the place of purchase (original place of collection)
• Replacement Time: 10.00am till 10.00pm
• Replacement Conditions: Customers are required to bring the full box set including a charger and cable; headset and USB Connector
