It could happen to any browser without adblock.

Update

After some digging, it looks like it was specifically targeted to certain devices, on the Mobile section only.

We have blocked some of the ads which could be used to push the pop up (thanks google for NOT filtering malicious ads)

Do let us know if its still appearing.

Some improvements..



Popup blocked, previously the ad still managed to defeat chrome popup blocker..

Same here, was in the Android section, the pop-up was block by chrome. Previously it would just bypass and appear anyway. Seems like a bit of improvements.

Same. Had 1 incident this morning while opening a mobile phone wts thread.

Can you try to clear/force close your Chrome browser and see if it still happens, i can no longer replicate the issue on my s7 after blocking out the malicious ads from adsense.

Pop-up ads block by chrome on the home page and also the feedback section. Seems to fix the issue already. Hopefully it won't appear anymore.

Im using samsung stock browser (internet) because solely of this issues previously (not lowyat related).

I have clear cache/data and even reset my google ad id.

So far so good. But it showed my browser blocked 1 pop up earlier.

try use chrome or use adblock browser ?
if rooted just install adblock apps on your phone

Will try on chrome but i prefer my stock browser. Its lighter and faster. Chrome got a tad bit lag when i switch tabs.

However, to date, no pop ups. Lyn mods did a good job

anyway glad that problem is solved

Actually using adblock doesn't help one, the pop-up is still there consuming the data just that u won't see it. It's better to completely remove it.

Boss, it happened again.

Samsung stock internet browser. Replying PM in lyn and it popped.

Google settings reset
Internet app data and cache cleared.

looks like they added more ads, and google still isn't blocking them.

I switched to chrome, didnt really surf lyn much but it popped on other websites like wikipedia etc.

switch back to stock internet browser (samsung) and will update.

Hi. Im still receiving the popup ad 3 timea today while visiting kopitiam and pm.
