I had a Lowepro Fastpack 250 for my Nikon D90 with multiple lenses, etc. Even after I downgraded to X-T1 with one lens, still use the same bag, but was a pain using it as a carry-on during flights.

Now with my X70, I use a Lowepro Viewpoint CS60, dump into my 5.11 Rush 12 for flights. When jalan-jalan, I carry it with my Peak Design Field Pouch. Never been happier with my setup, cut down my gear and still able to take great photos.

I have the Fastpack 350 and which is unused now. doh.gif I know how it feels. laugh.gif I was using it with my 5D + few heavy L lenses.
I will check out your bags. laugh.gif Checked. I don't think the Peak Design Field Pouch fits my X-T1 with some lenses. laugh.gif
I will stick to my Lowepro Passport Sling then. biggrin.gif

Yeah, not for X-T1 and lenses. tongue.gif

Peak Design has the Everyday Messenger, and they are Kickstarting their Everyday Backpack, which are quite pricey but they seem to have great quality bags to cater photography gear.

I will check them out. biggrin.gif
I already bought the Bobby Backpack for my travel. Also from Kickstarter, XD Design.

That's a nice looking bag. Where did you buy that? Price? Might get that as well. cool2.gif

I love these "clam styled opening" for the main compartment. My Rush 12 saved me some time one in Bucharest at the security check point, got stopped for carrying too many electronics (2 GDrive HDD, X70, Macbook, etc) and I just open the main compartment and everything was clearly displayed for the security officer.

fruitie// What is the advantage of the X70 over the X100T if you don't mind me asking? Are they not both fixed lens? hmm.gif Ahahahaha! I agree that interchangeable cameras are so much lighter compared to DSLRs, I cannot imagine myself lugging those monstrosities around  sweat.gif  I tried   holding my friend's Canon DSLR once, snap decision right then and there, NO DSLRs for me  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
kelvinling// But aren't the XF line better performers than the XC? I am planning to stick to one lens if I buy the XT10, which is why I wonder if the 18-55 kit lens will be much diff from the fixed lens of the X100T/X70?  I do think it's a hassle to change lens too tbh  hmm.gif For Mt Fuji, say how about I want a shot of the entire mountain with lake..so I will be standing across the lake. And my budget is 4k and below  thumbsup.gif
woonsc// Ahahahaha! The XT2 is expensive! No budget  sad.gif I'm currently using a MacAir and already very satisfied with it! biggrin.gif
kenary820// X100 or X100T? I thought it has in built flash?  hmm.gif I have considered a tripod stand for solo travels, but wouldn't it be in the way of others when I set it up?

To answer your question regarding X70 vs X100T.

The X70 is a small camera and it's quite handy for travels. You can fit it in your pocket and doesn't even take space in your bag. X100T is bigger. Still doesn't take much bag space but you'll have to hang it around your neck.

You'll have a large articulating touchscreen which is perfect for selfies, but what interest me more is the ability to select AF points on the go. Personally, I feel it's quite handy that you don't have to press any button or rotate any dial to select focus points. Advantage against the X100T? Yes, for touchscreen. Negligible for the articulating screen.

Plus, it comes with Classic Chrome, which I love to death when I had the XT-1.

You'll have a wide fixed lens which is perfect for landscape, a tad too wide for street, I guess the X100T would be a better choice for street. For both cameras, it's quite restrictive in terms what you can shoot, but in a good way, it helps train your composition skills. Also, with the fixed lens, you'll most likely avoid having Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS), and spend less. There are lens converter but I've never find any need to purchase one.

Regarding the lack of viewfinder, I was worried that this could be a turn down, but it turned out fine transitioning from the XT-1. It didn't bother me to see everything through the screen, by the way it drains your battery. You would need extra batteries or a powerbank to charge on the fly. I have 2 additional Wasabi batteries and a separate charger. I've gone on commercial sets, taking "behind the scenes" photos and videos with the X70 and I ended up using all three batteries. A disadvantage, but still you can workaround it.

Is the X70/X100T, a good beginner camera? I don't see why not. you'll still be able to do everything manually for you shutter speed and aperature. You'll have the ability to do manual focus (FYI on the X70, the focus ring is quite small and could be troublesome sometime, but I rely on the camera's AF). ISO, you'll have to go through the "Q" menu.

Lastly, the X70 is way cheaper than the X100T.

Yes, I do love the aspect of the portability of both the X70 and X100T!( I don't mind strapping on neck) and I ADORE CLASSIC CHROME!  smile.gif
But I beg to differ about the articulating screen, I do think the screen would be useful for hip shots.

1. What about bokeh? Since it's f/2.8 vs  f/2, do you find the booked on X70 good enough?
2. The X70 has an auto/ manual quick switch button, does the X100T have one? (for my parents/strangers  to take shots of me  tongue.gif )
3. How long is the battery life? Roughly. ( I don't take videos )

Articulating screen for hip shots, yes. I just don't like the idea of using the screen for selfie.

1. Bokeh - Till now, I have not taken any shots that matters in terms of bokeh. Honest opinion between both, it's negligible since it's, 0.8 difference, but I could be wrong. Comparing this to my 23MM F1.4, then I would say big different. Keep in mind that the camera has a cropped sensor (F2.0 = F3, F2.8 = F4.2). If you're talking about the "bokeh-ness" while doing product/food shots, I think it's good enough at F4. I based this on a conversation I had with one director of photography, he usually use F4 (Full Frame) for portraits, which give him a nice sharpness of the subject's eye, keeping the front of the nose and ears in focus. Anything lower, you could lose some facial features. This is subjective though, some like it softer, but he added that you could make it softer in post.

2. Not sure about the dedicated auto dial, or lever. You'll have to research about that. The X70 also has wireless connection, not just to transfer photos from camera to phone, etc., you can control the camera. Change shutter speed, aperature, focus point, ISO, etc.

3. Roughly about 270 shot. Get a couple of spare batteries. Bare in mind as well, the X70 doesn't come with a proper battery charger. You would have to plug the micro USB in to a wall adapter. I highly recommend getting those Wasabi battery packs (2 batteries + a charger).
