I only have four lenses now. 12mm, 18mm, 23mm and 50-230mm but I usually leave out that telephoto lens. tongue.gif
I will be going to India this end month for a month plus, maybe I will bring all and my flash gun too. hmm.gif

Wow. Have fun. Looking fwd to the photos

QUOTE(chriscym @ Feb 13 2017, 10:46 AM)
just wondering, if I could only budget for 1 lens for a start, what would u recommend ? Kit lens or a prime lens? Will be using it mostly for traveling and casual shooting
*
IMO 18-55 kit.

or

18mm f2 but if shoot video then gg.com shaky cam.

For the price yes. With OIS some more. laugh.gif
I seldom use but it's good to have, if need a longer reach. I find it not as good as Canon's 55-250mm though.
*
Worse than 55-250 ar? Ok lor... scrap that thought

Yes, that's my opinion la. hmm.gif
I really loved the 55-250mm before switching to 70-200mm.
*
Agree.. the 55-250 was decent albeit underused lens.

Anyway.. just a thought since i dont have tele on my fuji system

OK, now I know. laugh.gif Is selfie screen important? tongue.gif
*
It's nice to have even if its just for taking weird angles

QUOTE(theng168 @ Apr 7 2017, 11:53 AM)
Ricoh is so call the top in the list for street photography right?
*
I don't have one but had played with it quite extensively.

Ricoh GR

Pros
DNG raw format
Sharp lens
Snap focus ie zone focussing made simple
Lightweight, feel soo damn solid on hands

Cons
Lens will eventually masuk dust
AF slow
No flip or selfie screen
No EVF

The ultimate strap for XT2. wink.gif

Prefer this over PEAK Design SlideLITE. Somehow i find PEAK Design too clumsy to use despite all the positive reviews.

Cheers.

Hi all, would like to seek your opinion on which model suits me. Currently eyeing on xt1,xt10,xt2 and xt20 but since i'm very new so my knowledge is extremely limited. Another reason is also to find a travel camera for our NZ trip. The camera should be beginner friendly and able to shoot good quality videography.
*
If its just for family stuff and video, XT20 would be the better choice with the touch screen to focus. If you're getting it in a kit, get the 18-55mm f2.8-4. It's much better than the 16-50mm.

16-50 feels more balanced on xt10 body but once u compare the image with 18-55... Theres no going back di.

Yea, been reading a lot on it. That is what everyone suggested, go for 18-55 but due to my budget limitation. I gotta save up more for it.
*
If you can... better go for XT20. I also have the XE2 which is essentially XT10 in a different body.

The XT20's improvements over previous generation is quite substantial.

The focusing alone ... is already a big improvement.. with xt10.. I have been in situations where it hunts to focus... but in the same environment... xt20 never once got such issue... if you have patience and don't mind once a while such issue... can still consider xt10 actually... not a deal breaker for me but more like a nuisance...
*
Snapped this on the way home after getting the XT20.. was just walking and this aunty (yeah..its not exactly fast pace) riding towards me.. turn on the camera and just snapped only.

Area focus and the 27mm pancake.

user posted imageDSCF9077 by vmwt, on Flickr

My XE2 wouldn't have caught it.

My Panasonics also wouldn't have caught it as well since it doesn't have minimum SS auto ISO.

Best of all, AF in vid actually works.

Thanks for the advice, guess I'll hold my purchase for now and save up for XT20 unless I found a really good deal on XT10 used unit.

Priority should go to the lens imo.

Guys need some advise, plan to buy X-T20

Suitable for newbie ?
Between 16-50mm and 18-55, which one is better ?

Normally only take street, landscape, portrait photography, no video involve
*
Had both. 18-55 is significantly better in every aspect except that its heavier and a bit unbalanced on XT20 without any additional grip etc.
