ok....so if can get around 2k... it is not really cheap but then price quite ok right? just that i think with the cashback promotion...should be able to get for around RM2.5k for a new unit...
but if need to buy now, the new selling price is around RM2.9k...

QUOTE(shicw1104 @ Nov 14 2016, 10:33 PM)
Seen a few selling for around RM2.5k without warranty. Might as well get the new lense for <RM3k (F1.4 version) with a year warranty for the peace of mind!

Another alternative is to get the F2.0 version which cost <RM2k.  smile.gif  smile.gif  smile.gif

Higher risk of getting fungus.... although if you occasionally takes it out for photoshoot at outdoor and exposed to sunlight... i think low risk of fungus... not sure anyone else can confirm this... smile.gif

I have been keeping camera and lenses inside my padded camera bag which just sitting on the floor inside my bedroom. And, I do on the aircon every night.  doh.gif

Is it not okay to keep the gears in aircon room without a dry box?
Thanks for info.  thumbup.gif

Aipo +1... i think mine already 7 years or so.... works fine still... claim warranty once and they honour it... happy so far.... smile.gif

QUOTE(kokmengng @ Nov 16 2016, 02:56 PM)
Agreed. So I am getting a proper dry cabinet instead. Found some affordable ones priced between 400-500. Brands such as Aipo, Eureka & Digi-Cabi. I prefer the Aipo. 😊

Define uwa vs wa? Uwa = below 15mm?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 18 2016, 12:04 AM)
For me yes. biggrin.gif
Actually wide angle enough already for me, to take some street shots too, not necessary must be UWA. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the great tips but wouldn't the power bank juice gets drained as well?

QUOTE(streme21 @ Nov 21 2016, 12:39 PM)
Not sure how to handle the camera in those situation but I can giv tip for the battery instead. Bring extra battery with you, last time I went to Paris and the temperature was below 5 degrees and both of my battery (In camera & backup) where drain half of its power  sweat.gif. Luckily my x100t can charge through the usb, and I used powerbank to get the juice back. Keep the extra battery close to ur body (Inside jacket pocket) to keep it warm, I didn't do it last time cause I thought it was okay  doh.gif

I'm going to Japan this January and will go to Hokaido for the winter festival. So my plan is to bring 3 backup battery  icon_idea.gif . I bought the XT-2 because it can charge via usb and sold my XPro-2 because it can't  cry.gif

Called a camera shop today and was told that cashback promotion will be back in December... that is like 1 week plus away... so that is the good news... but the bad news is.... potentially there will be a price hike as well... probably 15% region..... so..... i don't hope the cashback will really offset the price increase more....

Sigh....

Ever consider 23mm and 56mm combo instead?

Else 35mm and 56mm like quite close... previously when I use Nikon... i did use 50mm and 35mm.... end up with just 35mm all the way.... just my opinion... like to hear your thoughts as well..... with 23mm and 56mm combo... u can use 56 for portrait and 23 as main walkabout lens...

QUOTE(QiAnG @ Nov 23 2016, 05:39 PM)
Anyone here switched from 35 1.4 to 35 2? Or the other way round?

Keep hearing about how magical 35 1.4 is

My current plan is to get a 35. Then proceed with 56 and 16/1024zoom

QUOTE(Bliz @ Dec 2 2016, 05:22 PM)
Wow the price increased like crazy, bought 10-24mm for RM3k++ and 23mm f/1.4 for RM2.8k+ before rebate. The price now is at least RM1k more

Fruitie/Baronic,

May i know which model of tripod both of you are using and also the price?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 3 2016, 02:43 AM)
Sirui carbon fiber tripod. I have one and totally value for money. biggrin.gif A good tripod will last you forever. laugh.gif

QUOTE(Baronic @ Dec 3 2016, 06:42 AM)
My sirui CF tripod broke where the CF rod connects to the legs area.

Replaced it with a manfrotto CF travel tripod used from e bay. Really awesome and sturdy. I also noticed that while there are many CF tripod, a lot depends on the other non CF parts as well to see how light and sturdy it is in the end

Thanks to our currency performance... you get to see price of things increase year by year.... so maybe now your 2nd hand item can sell at same price as your original purchase price..... grrrrr..... ><

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 5 2016, 11:28 AM)
Wow, didn't know CF cost so much these days. Glad that I made the correct decision more than 3 years ago.
Yeah, when I bought mine, it cost around RM 600 that time.
I think mine already end of production.
