Squad is the alpha game that it is still in progress on steam.\
It cost 75 Malaysia Ringgit.
I bought it 1st, then i refund the whole thing.
But then i bought it again, loving it so far.

The game itself is still facing a lot of issues,
main issues is, the game isn't pretty well optimize, (AMD/ATI users will face a really bad fps for this game)
no good servers to play on (play in server using my maxis line, can get between 150~300ms, PLAYABLE FOR ME), and also, good english speaking is needed communicating and completing each objective.
Currently i have 76 hours of playing time on the game.

Its weird, despite it actually have a lot of issues, i still keep on playing that game instead of INSURGENCY.
I do admit, INSURGENCY is great, in fps games, the only thing i can come close to Squad is either planetside 2 or Arma 3.
I don't want to compare between each of them, they do have in common, similarities isnt that far off, its pretty darn good. With its current state of the game...LOL
the game itself now have vehicles, BTR, transport truck, humvee and so on.
Don't have tanks and no heli (YET), no ranking system and no running solo quickscope that kind of stuff.

can get between 150~300Ping in US server which is IMO, playable for me.
There is a Asia Pacific server which 16vs 16 but there is no players in that server.

At least a duo core, 4/8gb ram, a gtx series card, and a must 64bit Windows OS to run the game.

just started 10min ago - still learning and from my first 10min in US server impression - damn fking nice with most ppl have mic/com with each other. Game is between Insurgency and ARMA - not too difficult to learn but require teamwork > KDA (lone ranger)

still confusing on spotting enemy (uniform) , allies (light blue) as its not shown in the compass indicator except your Squad (green).

I used to play Battlefield 2 Project Reality Mod; pretty much similar to ARMA, Squad and Insurgency. Limited to no HUD, no friendly/enemy trackers, no ammo count (just clip count), 64 player servers. It was amazing; communication was top notch; love the callouts for bearings/azimuth, suppress firing, unknown targets, movement of squad makes you feel powerful but fragile.

I might pick Squad up to get myself going again in realistic FPS. RM75 is pretty decent. How many players and maps are we talking about in Squad?

70 players in a map - 35 vs 35.
Map rotation - 8 maps.

for rm75, its offer alot especially if you enjoy medium pace and hardcore + communication + teamwork. (slow pace & most hardcore i would give to Arma series). (clocked 100hrs since getting it)
i play in US server as it offer the lowest ping at <200. avg 150ms which did not stutter or lag. any server with above 200ms will have stuttering issue.

for graphic issue, ignore that you can't hit 60fps. i play well with avg 35fps - 45fps. as it is not fast pace combat (COD/BF/Titanfall/CS), it does not gave me any issue.

new patch on Squad. optimization phase 1 is up.
Now, hitting 60~80 during in game with custom high settings.
1680x1050 is my monitor max reso.
You can try 1920x1080 if you have 1.
the game has been optimize, and server is playable.

Oh yeah, Topper (SFW Insurgency/ARMAIII) has a SG server running, but waiting for license from Offworld.

Until the license is issued, the server can only be found via Custom Server tab.

FYI

[SFW]Topper has setup 2 official licensed server for SQUAD. Server is based in SG and is now open for business.

You can search for the server from the server browser now instead of Custom Servers.


Ping from MY should be below 100ms, ideal connections from UNIFI should be less than 50ms. Your mileage may vary of course.


SFW group/clan is also looking for Squad members. Nothing hardcore, just casual players that play together for better groups/squad for more enriching gameplay.

the game is in much better state. my ex-290 able to play it high at 1440p with some turn down low.
mostly play in US server due to higher player (mostly full) and better team play / SL (crucial if there's too many noob). - (Around 200-250ms, playable as normal)

There's SFW server, but only populated during night time. (lowest ping around 50ms)

Oh 200-250 ping? That's borderline unplayable. I get irritated with ping above 120...

Considering one server accomodates 80 players, that means the playerbase in SEA is still lacking right?

At that ping, it still very much playable. above 300ms bcom not playable.
yeah, SEA still lacking in terms of player and Leader wise. hence, I always play in US server.

Also, got Steam refund wut

Yeah how long is the refund window? I haven't refunded anything I bought yet...

Maybe I should buy Rainbow Six Siege for now...
