QUOTE(babienn @ Aug 29 2016, 07:34 PM) If they need so much time to verify new customers, can we go open a CASA account first, then when our FD at other banks expire, we transfer to bangkok bank and place the FD directly? CASA opening also take time.. Same issue.Or they need that much time to verify new FD placement? Verification purpose |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 30 2016, 02:04 PM) This is when people with PIDM account will feel safer cause if bank kaput, PIDM will cover until max rm250k. PIDM only give some mental comfort.. it actually not enough fund to cover all accounts. I doubt if they can actually pay all the accounts in 1 banks, let alone all the banks under PIDM Of course if one bank after another kaput, then PIDM pun tak ada cash utk cover. |

Bank Negara seen keeping key rate at 3% as the country's economy is seen to be coping with global market volatility in the wake of Britain's June Brexit vote.
Brian Tan, Singapore-based economist for Nomura says a cut is more likely at BNM's next policy meeting on Nov. 23, when there could be a greater need to prop up growth as the government may tighten spending to keep this year's budget deficit close to the targeted 3.1 percent. http://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...y-rate-at-3pct/ |

since most analysts see another OPR cut in November, we needed to review existing FD portfolio & try to lock in the best rate now.
later after rate cut, the promo rate will be even lower. so don't cry after u missed the boat |
