hey i'm from Ipoh too...I don't know all the shops there but I personally think the one behind the old parkson bulding in Ipoh Garden have some interesting gears.

ANyway for RM850 I'll recommend an SX guitar(I prefer tele but it's up to you...) and a microcube(for pracfice). All for RM800 only. And they're pretty sturdy equipments. Sounds good too.
