Does a Carb neeb to be retuned after
1. Air Filter Upgrade
2 Spark plug / Plug Cables upgrade
3. Pumping Fuel With aditives? (eg: Vpower)

Read around If u dont retune the carb, there will not be any diffrence. sweat.gif

On another case,
I tried filling my car with V-power the last 3-4 fills.
I noticed, The Engine knocks More, and I get Very bad mileage (like 40km less). As a lot of people used it and they said its very good and gives em extra mileage..
Im wondering if The engine needs to be re-tuned to accomodate the fuel?

Now im back to normal Esso/mobil.. Engine Knock is not that much. sweat.gif

carbies definately needs to be re-tuned once in a while. as for difference in performance, you are limited to the capacity of the engine. changing the plugs of a 2000cc turbo car will give u noticable difference compared to changing the plugs of a 1500cc na car

Im quite confuse? You want extra power on your engine or you want your car to be fuel effiecient?

Definetly, you cant get both of that~~! icon_rolleyes.gif
You can only choose one, perfomance or FC?

Nono..just a curious question.
Cause after putting in V-power (which everyone claimed it gived better mileage) My FC went up considerably high..

So i was thinking maybe the carb needs to be re-tuned to accept Fuels with additives like these?

Definetely need to be re-tune. Most of sports aif filter let more air into your car. Thus, your current air-fuel ratios is not efficient anymore.

yes, carb needs to be retuned once in a while coz the setting will 'lari' after harsh knocks and vibrations driving on roads....

yes, u need to retune ur carb after ur air filter upgrade... coz more air will enter, ur AFR mixture will be lean... thus, need to recalibrate the AFR.....

some claim that plugs/cable upgrades need to retune carb.... but whatever it is, it is still recommended to retune it after sometime.... even if no upgrades are done....

as ur problem with vpower.... i'm not too sure, but mayb because our engines dont need such high octane rating fuel.... i havent tried vpower yet (no money mah), but normal unleaded fuel works fine for me.... usually, new JDM or continental cars need higher octane fuel to maximize engine performance, but since we are using engines from 80s century, no need vpower lah.....

jz my 2 cents...

Waa..if everytime need to send to the workshop to retune ma very exp?
heehehe..
Got anyway to Tune your own?
What sorta device that you need?

I read around and people are going with Fuel Regulators.. Seems it can Indicate the leanness/Richness of the A/F mixture?

i retune my carb (AFR n idle rpm) and ignition timing for 10bucks only.... few months retune once.... or when ignition timing out adi, go retune...

usually my ignition timing will out first compare to AFR....

actually retune carb can diy.... only AFR abit hard, coz this needs experience and loads of trial n error.... idle rpm is easier to tune...
