Jiuhu = 州府 in Hokkien

Actually Singaporean call Malaysian Jiuhukia 州府仔

Singapore call Malaysia Jiuhu, as during British Colonial time Singapore/Melaka/Penang is Straits Settlement, in Chinese is call 三州府 Sa Jiuhu.

Offcoz the origin of the word Jiuhu is from China during Ming & Qing Dynasty who name state as 州府 zhoufu or jiuhu, eg. KongFu 广府。

But Jiuhu kia is kind of look down on Malaysian as there are deem poor & need to work as labour in Singapore.

Besides Jiuhu Malaya also been call as LiangPang 联邦 or Federal.
