Exactly, nobody tell it simple, and these flashing techniques are not simple for normal user.

Yesterday night just flash an AP set RN3 to Global Stable rom with fastboot mode, guess the phone already been unlocked bootloader before.
The AP set being flashed by vendor with custom MIUI China rom that cannot download update and detect "zip" update file, stuck at MIUI version 7.3.6.0, so I decide to take risk. Luckily one take success, no error found. Just using a Windows 10 tablet/laptop hybrid with 32bit OS, and using MiFlash of 32bit version to flash.

Hope that all vendor that selling AP set help to directly flash to global stable rom.
Using the "Updater" is the easiest way to flash, then leave those people who wish to flash custom rom to use other method to flash to whatever rom they like.

Normally those item buy from online store like Gemfive, Lazada, Lelong, 11Streets takes 2 to 4 days to arrive, only some will deliver the next day.
I live at north area (Kedah, Penang, Perak) and normally delivery takes 2 days, meaning if order on Monday, Wednesday will get it.

Normally the problem is on the courier service where from my various tracking, always late to pickup the item from merchant, where the merchant always ready packing the item on the day of the orders.

Those online store will send you the tracking code once the item really shipped out, in email, and sms.
But no need worry, all item will arrived safely no matter what you buy.Just need to be patient.

Unless the item is shipped from oversea (normally on Lazada and 11street), where you may have to make attention on the shipment where it may over 2 weeks, and up to 1 month.

Heard they will only bring in 16GB and 32GB model as currently only this 2 version are sold internationally with global version of MIUI.

64GB and 128GB version are for China only, hence till now these 2 still don't have global version of MIUI, but still can install Google Play on China version MIUI.

Gemfive normally a bit slower, weekend no service, delivery normally pickup on Monday, delivered on Wednesday.

I buy from Lazada with RM611 only, using credit card 10% discount.
Not from Terabyte, cause Terabyte item cannot apply the 10% discount.
Unit I have is flashed with a vendor rom, but I manage to flash to Global stable rom anyway.

Actually Lazada now got sold the original set, also can apply 10% credit card discount.
Finally price for original set 32GB is RM764. Price different to AP set is round RM150.
Not a bad choice also considering the AP warranty.

On thread version 5, got people mention it is flashed with Global rom. You can verify with that guy.

Then you should stick to original set.
It is the warranty that matter.
The price gap between original and AP is not big different.

But normally Xiaomi phone is of good quality, never spoil easily.
I have a Redmi Note 2 that used for 9 month, no issue so far, unlike the mistrust Samsung, ASUS and Lenovo.

Every phone warranty is just 1 year.

Yes, Redmi Note 3 still base on Android 5.1.1.
The Redmi Note 2 still base on Android 5.0.2.

Now no more saying as 4G+ or 4G LTE Advance, all now simply called 4G. Last time these term is to justify the 4G speed, but it really doesn't matter, it should categorized as LTE category.

3 years ago, most 4G LTE phone already equipped with LTE Cat 3 modem, max speed already can reach 100M, then in the same year, LTE Cat 4 can reach 150M, the latest LTE Cat 6/7 can reach 300M.

But you see, normally our average 4G speed is only up to 10M to 15M, huge improvement over 3.75G which average around 2M, but still far from fully utilize to maximum.

According to Qualcomm official website, this Snapdragon 650 processor is equipped with LTE Cat 7 modem, max speed up to 300M.
But, we still don't have LTE that so high speed at Malaysia.
Last time I test on Singapore sim card at SG can reach 50M+ on my LTE Cat 3 phone, their telco officially launch LTE Advance with LTE Advance phone A.K.A phone with Snapdragon 800 at that time (Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S4 Advance, LG G Flex, LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia Z Ultra) , with LTE Cat 4 max speed 150M.

Actually fastboot method also can work to flash to global rom.
Mine is flashed using fastboot method, using MiFlash utility.
Flashed with a Windows 10 laptop/tablet hybrid, 32bit.
Now my phone can use the "Updater", it auto update to MIUI 8 global.

It actually depend, there is Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Pro with AMOLED screen and dual camera, price differ around RM200 among those variant.
Wait for Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Pro review only to decide.

Yours is AP set with vendor rom, which only stuck at MIUI 7.5 and won't able to detect the Updater.zip, even everytime you tap "System Update" also won't do any update.

Try flash the phone with global stable rom, any version of it is ok.
I flash it myself with the fastboot method(the so called method 3 on en.miui.com) which works for me.
Now it just behaved like the normal Malaysia ori set, it will auto detect the update and prompt for update. It already auto update to MIUI 8.0.5.0.

Yes, only Mi device have it, Redmi device don't have, Mi Max have it.
But, the DT2W for Mi Max is just to wake up, cannot double tap to lock.

LG, ASUS, Oneplus, OPPO, Meizu all have it.
