Whether 8 or 7, I still hate the clock widget because it takes lots of space on the grid size. We can't put icons on the right side of the clock widget. So, it just blank space... wasted...oh well, use 3rd party clock app lohhh...

Below is also the stock widget (MIUI8). Much better coz text size bigger. But the date is in weird YYYY/MM/DD format...

i hate the small size of 'minutes' shown in MUIU7 .

Why my Whatsapp and other messaging apps doesn't shows up when the screen is off? Only shows when I unlock and goes into the app??

Allow your app into startup in Security app, and exclude it from battery saving list.

may i know how to do this??

- Go to Security app in your phone, tap on Permissions->Startup
- Then, go to Battery->App battery saver, and tap on whatsapp/or other messaging apps, set to "No Restrictions".
- If those fails, uninstall your whatsapp, and reinstall normally will usually fix the message not coming when screen is off..

For those in MIUI 8 after update or dirty flash..if those battery app exclusion doesn't work, just uninstall and reinstall whatsapp..and miui should automatically detect and set priority on whatsapp.

not sure why it happened like this, probably a bug in MIUI.. reported it anyway.

One more step

Go to Whatsapp app itself -> Tap on 3 dot on top right corner -> Notifications -> Popup notification -> Select "Always show popup".

i tried to follow the guides posted on the front page.
I did it few times,but it always brick my phone.. lol,then had to re-install everything

luckily, not that.

only im stuck at 50%, had to flash China dev rom just to get it unlock, cant flash twrp, my adb not working, then getting lost on how to flash twrp, got twrp, supersu, then xposed not working.

in short, steps to getting it done was a bit messy, not as per usual way when doing other android devices. almosy give up halfway lol




anyway, miui had a wierd way in grouping its setting. all native apps setting grouped in one place, they put security in separated app, battery saver in security app etc

anyone have suggestion for tough casing for RMN3? i used spigen b4 but they dont make any model for RMN3.

this case quite ok la, but hate the thin plastic
so far ok for protection, cover most of the parts include edge bump for screen protection.

I just use whatever in the vid for max protection...

i have no issue with twrp version. i used alka twrp. i only had issue on the process in getting it done, like adb not working for example. had to install Mi pc suite for adb to be working, which not stated in any how to pages.

anyway, all safe and sound already.
