A V3x user for 2 months now. Absolutely satisfied. Friends been making fun of it's "childish" UI when compared to w800 / w900. But WTH, i bought this over w800 coz it looks WAY WAY cooler and it has 3G. And for w900, different league(price) and too bulky.  tongue.gif

But anyway, got some questions for you guys and would appreciate it if any of you guys can solve it:

1) Can we cancel a sms while its sending out? I was a k700 user before this, whenever i press send(sms) i could cancel it immediately if when i've accidently send to a wrong person for instance.

2) Are there any earphone for the mini usb port for the phone? the 1 piece earphone provided is crap for listening music  unsure.gif
cheers...
*
1. ya it would be a good to have feature since once u touch the send button, the sms is gone.

2. probably a trick to force us to buy the bluetooth headset

QUOTE(nocar @ Jun 26 2006, 06:42 PM)
guys,

pls try this. switch on your handphone and go straight to -> multimedia -> sounds. For me, it will take some times before the songlists came out sometimes more than a minute. If it's take longer time, i click the cancel button, go back to -> sounds  and everything is smooth sailing. I got 12 mp3 songs stored in the memory card that consumed more than 50mb. I think the phone takes time to initiate all the features plus recognising the data in the memory card. how about you?

What's your opinion on the computer software suite? I think MOTO software suite is much better than Samsung one. Tried connecting to internet and it was so easy. Moving files also easy - so all my pix are in the laptop already.  Safe from wifey..... hehehe. i never try Nokia or SE software yet.
*
ya i think thats happens to every phone. Because after you switch on your phone, the phone needs to read all the data including phonebook, received call list, sms mesages, the lot and put them in the RAM (i think)

the suite is ok, but when transfering files, i prefer to just change the USB settings to use the memory card and use the phone like a usb thumb drive. thumbup.gif

i prefer that because when transfering mp3, the software suite tends to lower the quality of the bitrate to reduce the file size hence very bad sound quality. shakehead.gif

talking about the batteries, did you know we can get a 1700mAH battery that can make our phone last 5 days at least without recharging? shocking.gif

http://www.motox.info/showthread.php?p=135565

anyone like to get one? or maybe we can buy in bulk? i sure would like to get my hands on one of those looking at the mediocre performance of the current v3x battery (850mAh)

Hi all,

I do have experience with my V3x,

1.Battery life spend: 2 days only
2.Sometime experience unregistered sim error, need to restart to resolve the problem
3.customized profile reset back to default mode.

All Moto v3x users please comment on this.. btw where can I perform software upgrade?
*
not sure, if your original set maybe at motorola service centers?

if AP like mine, i just upgrade aka flash the firmware to the latest version

yupe,

here's some link to some guides that i found on the net, not only you can solve some problems with the phone, you can even improve some features like extend the time for video recording, increase the volume output of the speakers, different language, turn on fun lights, etc.

mind you though, there is a chance of turning your phone into an expensive paper weight so just becareful and mind the warnings in these guides.

Also keep in mind that althought some of these guides are for V3 and V3i, the steps and software used to connect to the phone is exactly the same. its just v3 and v3i uses different firmware as compared to the v3x.

The seem map between v3, v3i and v3x are also almost similar. Whats a seem map? Read the guides!

this guide should be a good place to start:
http://www.7900novadrive.com/V3/file/Guide.pdf

other helpful sites:

1. the moto guide
2. Motorola V3X Razr Downloads and Files
3. MotoX Forum (lots of guids and faq)

not that i know of...

the only other thing i heard is that you can get a SLVR L7 battery (BC70) which has slightly higher capacity the BC60 in the v3x.
it's slighty thicker but it will fit the v3x

that might extend the v3x by an hour or 2

sorry to hear about your problem mydelsol, but so far i had no problems installing the CD in 3 diff computers (home, notebook and work pcs). maybe its not related to the cd and its just a problem with your PC? unsure.gif

How much for the BC70 battery? My phone back cover is now getting squeaky - probablt thicker batt can help instead of using paper  blink.gif
*
Yes it has been suggested by many to use the bc70 as a way to stop the squeak. for me i just slipped a folded post-it note under the cover and the squeak stopped.

yupe other than the minor complains like the squeaking/battery life etc. its a pretty good phone from motorola, come to think of it i think its one of the best motorola i've used.

it has a feature that i dont think even nokia has:

ObeyMoto=voice command that recognise any voice and u dun need to pre record your voice thumbup.gif

and dun worry about modding, there lots of site teaching u to mod v3/v3i/v3x. My v3x one of the things that i mod was the video recording limit which was 3 mins, now its 1 hour. whistling.gif

Anyone knows how to increase the phone's speaker volume? Its kinda "soft" in my opinion
*
yupe there is a way, but you have to sort of mod your phone a little and of cause might void your warranty if you kill your phone so be careful.

basically you have to use P2k Commander v3.3 to overwrite the current audio_cfg.db in your phone's "internal disk" which in v3x case is in drive '/a/mobile/system'.

P2k commander is like a FTP program, where u have your PC's drive on one side and the phone's drive on the other.

Remember to back up the original file before overwriting it with this new one.

this will increase the sound by 2 step, so lower your sound before u change the file.

I dont think so.But there is an application(java) that can record video and sound even you close the clamshell. That mean you can be spy and record video without anyone noticing it.Also iTunes (same as mp3player)

Anyway beside adding application you can mod your handphone to make it more interest.Thank You
*
the app is called dictaphone, i have it in my phone and yupe it works even when the phone is closed.

you can get it here http://www.forumcommunity.net/?c=43000

i think changing the setting like increasing the sound volume and changing the video recording time should be quite safe since you do not need to flash the phone's firmware, just need to change the flex a bit.

May i know how to setting this oledi?when i bought the phone i have still can use this fuction.but cos of my phone ever re-flash oledi.until now i still can find this oledi.
*
ya its one of the button on the right side of the phone. but there is an issue about reflashing and obeymoto wont work. here is the solution extracted fromt the v3x guide:

first u need to download the language pack, this is the english and chinese version:

http://rapidshare.de/files/12709386/VST_ENG_MAN.zip.html

then basically what u have to do is put the files from the zip file above in to the phone's a/mobile/vst folder. if the vst folder does not exist, you have to create it.

QUOTE
Hi all!
Since that many of us are starting to use the nobrand firmwares for our V3X/E1070 I decided to post this little guide to help everybody to re-enable ObeyMoto.

First of all you've got to provide yourself with a program that let's you explore and manipulate folders on your V3X flawlessly (almost).  I prefer to use LeaderGL FlexEditor XP 10.4.

Please note that it has many languages like: English, French, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

Now, if you're used to flashing u can skip this passage, and if you're not unpack the file P2k_Drivers_2Ώ].9.0.0_050826.rar and keep it at hand.

Install FlexEditor. Open it. Check that you're phone is set as data connection under mobile main menu-->settings-->connections-->USB settings. Now connect your phone to the USB cable. It should appear as "modem" under windows device manager and FlexEditor (in green) both. Now click on the "NORMAL" button on the up-right side of FlexEditor and that's all. It might ask you for drivers for three new peripherals and here the P2K drivers come in handy. Just choose to manual install, choose to install from a list and then browse to the folder that you've unpacked previously, choose the file MotocompXP.inf and that's done.

Here we are!

Now change the language to the one you feel comfortable and then go to the "struments" (English version) menu. Under this menu you'll find "Resource Explorer".
Select it and the program will load your mobile folders.

Now go to a/mobile/ and search for a folder called "vst". Else create it (lower case) and copy in it (with the mouse right button) the files from the VST folder related to your language. Since I'm adding these files as .rar, these files have to be unpacked and the folders should be kept under the main root (for easier usage) like c:/vst (in my case).

Whats flex?
just got my moto yesterday rclxm9.gif
*
yupe been doing some modding on my phone without any problems so far.

flex=
*taken from the motoguide

QUOTE
Flex: A Flex is a file that contains ONLY graphics and settings. there is no software in the flex, nor does it contain any code (other than java midlets (like Java Games, tools, etc...), which don't affect the software or settings of the phone.) You can apply a Flex File to your phone using PST, or MultiFlashFlex. You can capture a Flex File FROM a Phone using MotoKit. (See "Flash" for more information on upgrading the Code that operates your phone's hardware)
