Hello sifu's, I'm planning to build ever rig ( HYPE ! ) so right now I'm just learning about PC's in general, studying their parts, checking user reviews etc. My dilemma right now is I'm stuck at my GPU + Monitor combo. I really want to have the FreeSync or GSync feature. I have 2 options :
1. RX 480 + AOC G2460pf 2. GTX 1060 + *insert budget Gsync monitor here*
My priorities are 24inch, 1080p, 144hz. The only model that ticks all the boxes for a GSync monitor that I have found is the Acer Predator XB241h. But I couldn't find the reviews of it on YouTube ! Can someone help me please ? Do give me your suggestions on this FreeSync vs GSync topic.

Whatever your pick is basically base upon your budget, but I can say freesync = gsync in terms of usage but freesync is way cheaper. A freesync monitor cost at least few hundred cheaper. I personally went with a RX480 and a Viewsonic XG2401. the AOC G2460PF is not really a good choice base on reviews saying the colour is not as good. I'd say go with gsync.. I'm using freesync and screen tearing is still pretty bad on some games. Like dota and rocket league has bad screen tearing while rise of the tomb raider and mass effect series is still decent. I don't know how gsync is better, but if you let me choose again I'll go gsync considering my experience.
edit: I realize that freesync works best within 40-70 fps. My dota and rocket league is going over 120 fps in-game. Maybe thats the problem.

I've never tried Freesync but used a few GSync LCD's when it was launched and the experience was fantastic, you won't go wrong with it.

Turn on both free sync and v-sync to eliminate the screen tearing but there'll be input lag for it. The freesync range depends on the model. Thank you for the link, really interesting to read his points and the reviews of the other monitors. Right now, I think that the Viewsonic XG2401 is what I'm looking for. Really positive reviews on Tom's Hardware and PC Monitors. Btw, which RX 480 card are you using ? And how is your personal experience with the Viewsonic XG2401 so far ?

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Aug 20 2016, 09:42 PM) unfortunately, there's no budget Gsync. Feelsbadman. The cheapest 24inch Gsync monitor that I've found so far is the Acer XB241h. And even that one is around RM 900 more expensive then the Viewsonic XG2401
