KUALA LUMPUR (June 22): After deliberation, Serba Dinamik Bhd's board has decided to take legal action against its external auditor KPMG PLT, which has shone the limelight on the oil & gas outfit for the wrong reasons, after it raised red flags on its client’s financial accounts.
Serba Dinamik's reputation as a company tarnished in my opinion. Instead of collaborating in investigations, they sue the auditor it's like pencuri report polis

not surprised if you look at who is their legal counsel? none other than the infamous Shafee
IMO they gonna be shooting their other foot by suing KPMG
what a controversial figure who defends our former premier. if you followed the news, Serba Dinamik has also "restructured" their board of directors and one of the independent directors has quitted.
Don't you find the storyline abit similiar with....
I nearby bought also, was queuing at 1.50 back then. "prospect" was good, although frequent PP (and use some of the PP to distribute dividend) was a red flag for me.
The Board of Directors (“Board”) wishes to inform that the Company had on 23 June 2021 received a notice in writing dated 23 June 2021 (“Notice”) from Messrs KPMG PLT (“KPMG”) on their resignation as auditors of the Company pursuant to Section 281 of the Companies Act 2016 with immediate effect.
KPMG in the Notice stated that the suit filed by the Company on 22 June 2021 against them in regard to the ongoing statutory audit of the Company for the financial period ending 30 June 2021 has compromised their ability to independently continue the audit engagement and discharge their professional duties as auditor of the Company.
The Company is currently identifying the new auditors to be engaged pursuant to Section 271(2)(b) of the Companies Act 2016 and will make an immediate announcement to this effect immediately upon the finalisation of appointment of the new auditors.
what an epic day. I never saw that amount of board members resign.
one of the director resigned with a strong point:
QUOTE
Disagree with the decisions of the Board taken recently which is contrary with her view. The decisions were in her view not the best interest of the Company, stakeholders, particularly the minority shareholders.
Independent directors can be reprimanded for not "doing" their independent job and to maintain their independency.
they might get into trouble for not playing the right role of independent directors.
If me, I would also resign from their board.
Independent director fees is like 50-60k a year, you really thing, go there drink coffee, smile smile laugh laugh, attend board meetings, sign some documents like board reso and that's it?
hope one day I would earn enough merit for ppl to invite me to become their Independent Director. gaji buta ni
