QUOTE(hanhanhan @ Jul 9 2018, 08:12 AM) just got a raven (cheapest version) but upgraded to i7.. really fast and attractive laptop. We need our own thread just the keyboard needs getting used to. sometimes key a bit sensitive will accidentally repeat pressing the key twice. at first i didn't care what is RGB and didn't plan to 'utilize' it however after awhile it feels nice having different color keyboard every day. |

Hi Illegear team
Is there any update for the Raven Gaming Center app? Because i noticed some performance drop on my laptop, and i found out on heavy usage, the gaming center would use tons of RAM and never releases it even after all the app is closed. Any reason why the app would even want to use so much ram in the first place? ps: looks like a memory leak. This post has been edited by Vail: Aug 29 2018, 09:35 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Aug 29 2018, 07:08 PM) I noticed Illegear Raven has "None" selected in their Operating System? Does it mean it does not come with any OS?? I see you need to RM289 just for a Win10 Home edition... while all the other models have Win10 included in their price... It comes with the OS as they need to setup and check the item, just without the OEM key. Trial. Not activated. |

QUOTE(James Teo @ Sep 2 2018, 12:19 AM) Well actually I wonder why most ppl prefer Onyx than Raven Elite (both 1060) tho, can share? I bought an Acer Predator Helios 300 1060 16gb Ram last Sunday because Illegear was not opened on Sunday and now I freaking regret it. Wanna sell it off and buy Raven Elite asap. Any owner of Raven Elite 1060 care to share experience? Thank you in advance. QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 2 2018, 02:05 AM) Bought Raven Elite last July. A friend of mine bought 2 units of Helio 300 from lowyat, same spec with the raven elite, 1060, i7 8th gen. One for himself, one for his brother. While im happy using raven, those two units of helio was defective. Both had screen artifact issue, and one of it died after few weeks of usage. Screen issue took about a month to fix due to sparepart unavailable at highpoint service center, while one of it that cant turn on was due to some internal wiring. Why im tellling this story, is that, good riddance if you sold your predator and get something else, especially that batch *manufactured in april/may*. The service center said that batch have issues due to lack of QC. Bear in mind, after the screen replacement, all is good lol. and raven experience? I had no issues from day one, except minor audio drive related issues which solvable by quick google. And ill recommend getting the FHD instead the 4K because not every windows app supports scaling out of the box for 4K. *MSSQL management studio looks so friggin tiny on 4K 15 inch screen by default*. Overall, im satisfied with the raven. |

QUOTE(James Teo @ Sep 2 2018, 12:55 PM) Lucikly mine was not defective "so far", well, last Sunday I went to Illegear but unfortunately they are not open as they changed their operation days from 7days to 6days so I can't buy my Illegear that time, so went to Lowyat and check out other laptops and bumped into my friend selling me this Acer Predator, well it is kinda tempting because of the price, then I bought it... And now, regret it. QUOTE(James Teo @ Sep 2 2018, 01:14 PM) If someone asks me about gaming laptops, predator is actually on my most recommending list. The build is "usually" good and for its pricing as well. Another thing, if you decide to sell, if possible, keep the predator bag lmao. its cool AF and checking the predator bag on All IT price tag is RM 1.6k or even buying it online costs about 100-150 USD. On Raven elite gaming, my GPU is 70-90C on normal room temperature non-airconditioning with laptop cooler ( its like 31c here in Bangkok). Running Android emulators makes CPU on 60-70c depending on the settings. Also while gaming, you'd feel the body becomes warm due to raven elite has aluminum body. Also when transferring files to your HDD, for a longer period, you'd feel the bottom right beside the touchpad very warm due to the hardisk positioning. The temperature looks fine to me as i had Lenovo gaming laptop before and it was even hotter |

QUOTE(James Teo @ Sep 2 2018, 02:20 PM) Correcto! I am keeping the bag, ironically the bag looks cooler than the laptop itself haha. Yes mine on i7-8750H. And your're right, any laptop that has this chip, you'd find people are actually worrying about the amount of heat it produces. Max Temp on this badboy CPU is at 100C. So imo anywhere in between 80-90 is still okay. But one more thing to ask, your Raven Elite is core i7-8750H right? Cause I heard 8750H produces a lot more heat. This is why i picked this model, heatpipes, dual fans, kryonaut thermal paste, etc. You definitely need a good laptop cooler as well This post has been edited by Vail: Sep 2 2018, 03:35 PM |

QUOTE(GavinGsWei @ Sep 2 2018, 03:40 PM) Comparing Raven (RM3810) vs ONYX (RM4949). Promotion now. Only liking the Onyx too due to its build design, bezel-less display and 480gb ssd free upgrade. Everything else between them are the same, which do you guys think is a better deal? The reason i picked raven elite and not onyx is due to onyx too slim, i worried that the cooling issue with i7 8th gen and 1060gtx. But there is a thread of Onyx users around here, and it looks pretty fine too so i guess its alright on that part. Having 480GB SSD deal, i'd probably go for it if i were you |

QUOTE(Winn@Illegear @ Oct 2 2018, 02:26 PM) Hi guys, have a closer look at the differences between Cap 1 and Cap 2 for ONYX/RAVEN.. Cap 1 is on the right side while Cap 2 is on the left side. This upgrade option is available for users who have purchased the mechanical keyboard series from ILLEGEAR. You may OPT for cap 2 key cap with your current blue switch keyboard for a refreshing look. How much to upgrade CAP 2 for Raven Elite? |

QUOTE(Winn@Illegear @ Oct 2 2018, 06:30 PM) Hi Vail, yes the edge of Cap 2 is no longer sharp as Cap 1 as you can see the whole layout from the visual above. Base on our findings, we do have customers who prefer on Cap 1 over Cap 2. If you are interested with Cap 2 keycap, you may purchase it in our showroom or contact our sale team through Whatsapp or Facebook chat, Price is at RM99. Ill come over when i get back from overseas |

QUOTE(Metallics @ Oct 6 2018, 06:22 PM) Thanks for your reveal, I almost wanted to purchase from them but now I am convinced to go for other brands after the nightmare you went through. Go to lenovo, after 5 years, if you have a faulty mobo, their fixing price is a price of an illegear raven laptop. Global Alts best costumer service. |

QUOTE(Legendex @ Oct 13 2018, 11:56 AM) Hi, I'm planning to purchase a new laptop, is anybody facing this issue as mention in the thread? it seem affecting most of the laptop with Intel+Nvidia GPU Interesting find, i wasnt aware of this issue at all. I was on 1803 build and never encountered such thing. Not with my Lenovo, nor Illegear. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...37-4c136608865e and i do most of the things listed (except using edge, who would wanna use that And now on build 1809, no such issues either. |

QUOTE(FiF2 @ Feb 12 2019, 04:28 PM) guys, do you have any issue with the laptop audio? I'm having Illegear Raven, and most of the time (like 99%) I had to increase the volume to 100 just to watch some youtube videos. Yeah this is a real mess. The only downside of having to use this brand lol.Not sure which Raven you're using, but if it has SoundBlaster 5, you could try this below If your using stock realtek drivers provided by them, with Soundblaster connect that is never updated. You could try enabling Smart Volume in the equalizer. This improves the sound volume greatly. The only issue is, if you updated your realtek audio, or updated the Soundblaster connect app from windows store, the equalizer function breaks. And few times ive asked, kept given same old drivers. So i gave up and using external speakers. |

QUOTE(dylan_chng @ Apr 1 2019, 11:01 PM) Interesting. However to note that the Raven ships with "Raven Command Centre" opposed to "Illegear Command Centre". "Illegear Command Centre" is not installed and cannot be found any where in the disk. Meaning to say that the image they used on my Raven is exclusively used on Raven's only if not mistaken. Is yours Raven or Raven elite? If Elite i can send you the command center. Or you can try to find your model is from which ODM and look for alternative command center from that use same barebone odm. On my case i got the latest of mechrevo site. This post has been edited by Vail: Apr 2 2019, 09:40 PM |
