Is there any update for the Raven Gaming Center app?

Because i noticed some performance drop on my laptop, and i found out on heavy usage, the gaming center would use tons of RAM and never releases it even after all the app is closed. Any reason why the app would even want to use so much ram in the first place?

ps: looks like a memory leak.

Never had this before
This only happened after KB4100347 update few days ago. I noticed it happens when im running emulation or virtualization or debugging my coding.

But so far just happened like twice, forcing terminate the process fixes it.

It comes with the OS as they need to setup and check the item, just without the OEM key. Trial. Not activated.

I believe all their models, you can actually opt out from the OS

You can check in their online store, every model you can set the OS to None during customization

Bought Raven Elite last July. A friend of mine bought 2 units of Helio 300 from lowyat, same spec with the raven elite, 1060, i7 8th gen. One for himself, one for his brother.
While im happy using raven, those two units of helio was defective.
Both had screen artifact issue, and one of it died after few weeks of usage.
Screen issue took about a month to fix due to sparepart unavailable at highpoint service center, while one of it that cant turn on was due to some internal wiring.

Why im tellling this story, is that, good riddance if you sold your predator and get something else, especially that batch *manufactured in april/may*. The service center said that batch have issues due to lack of QC. Bear in mind, after the screen replacement, all is good lol.


and raven experience? I had no issues from day one, except minor audio drive related issues which solvable by quick google. And ill recommend getting the FHD instead the 4K because not every windows app supports scaling out of the box for 4K. *MSSQL management studio looks so friggin tiny on 4K 15 inch screen by default*.


Overall, im satisfied with the raven.

If someone asks me about gaming laptops, predator is actually on my most recommending list. The build is "usually" good and for its pricing as well. Another thing, if you decide to sell, if possible, keep the predator bag lmao. its cool AF and checking the predator bag on All IT price tag is RM 1.6k or even buying it online costs about 100-150 USD.


On Raven elite gaming, my GPU is 70-90C on normal room temperature non-airconditioning with laptop cooler ( its like 31c here in Bangkok). Running Android emulators makes CPU on 60-70c depending on the settings.
Also while gaming, you'd feel the body becomes warm due to raven elite has aluminum body. Also when transferring files to your HDD, for a longer period, you'd feel the bottom right beside the touchpad very warm due to the hardisk positioning.

The temperature looks fine to me as i had Lenovo gaming laptop before and it was even hotter . The raven gaming center usually auto kicks the fan boost when the system heats up to cool it off, then it will return the fan to normal mode. There is also a button for the fan boost unlike the acer predator where you have to turn it on in the control panel.

Yes mine on i7-8750H. And your're right, any laptop that has this chip, you'd find people are actually worrying about the amount of heat it produces. Max Temp on this badboy CPU is at 100C. So imo anywhere in between 80-90 is still okay.

This is why i picked this model, heatpipes, dual fans, kryonaut thermal paste, etc.
You definitely need a good laptop cooler as well

The reason i picked raven elite and not onyx is due to onyx too slim, i worried that the cooling issue with i7 8th gen and 1060gtx. But there is a thread of Onyx users around here, and it looks pretty fine too so i guess its alright on that part. Having 480GB SSD deal, i'd probably go for it if i were you

CAP2 looks great, those edge corners isnt as sharp as CAP1 that always get stuck in my wiping cloth and flies out

How much to upgrade CAP 2 for Raven Elite?

Yeah i remember Azim telling me that the users feeling on the CAP2 is a bit weird over CAP1, But then again, when i got my laptop the keyboard it self felt weird Im sure ill get used to it

Go to lenovo, after 5 years, if you have a faulty mobo, their fixing price is a price of an illegear raven laptop. Global Alts best costumer service.

Interesting find, i wasnt aware of this issue at all. I was on 1803 build and never encountered such thing. Not with my Lenovo, nor Illegear.
and i do most of the things listed (except using edge, who would wanna use that )

And now on build 1809, no such issues either.

Yeah this is a real mess. The only downside of having to use this brand lol.

Not sure which Raven you're using, but if it has SoundBlaster 5, you could try this below
If your using stock realtek drivers provided by them, with Soundblaster connect that is never updated. You could try enabling Smart Volume in the equalizer. This improves the sound volume greatly.

The only issue is, if you updated your realtek audio, or updated the Soundblaster connect app from windows store, the equalizer function breaks.

And few times ive asked, kept given same old drivers. So i gave up and using external speakers.

Is yours Raven or Raven elite? If Elite i can send you the command center. Or you can try to find your model is from which ODM and look for alternative command center from that use same barebone odm. On my case i got the latest of mechrevo site.
