Hi Prince J, attached is the picture of the jacks that i used for the headphones

the left side (the jack with red light) is the one with noise and the right side is the normal one.

i think i will go back home and try to use different headphones to confirm on the problem. will get back to you on this.

i didn't plug in the wrong one. there are 3 jacks. left is headphones, middle is microphone, the right side is like a speaker logo if i am not mistaken.

both left and right did produce sound for me. just that the jack with headphone logo have some minor buzzing sound but if you on loud music you wouldnt hear it

how do i check? it is the gtx 1060 version

I bought S5 GTX1070 few months ago, just saw that now there's option to upgrade to 120hz panel. Is my laptop able to upgrade to the 120hz Panel?

If not mistaken the 120Hz lcd panel is TN screen, i got a lot of feedback of the color accuracy is worse compare to the 60hz IPS panel.

anyway I am using 60hz IPS G-sync.

Nice!    I plan to get s5 by mid year. One question though; lets say if I buy s5 with ips  60hz g-sync panel, will I be able to upgrade to the 120 hz ips g-sync panel later? Or I have to purchase the laptop directly with the 120hz panel though??

Oo... So the panel upgrade is indeed feasible la but need cable change as well?   

I guess the cable change means extra cost involve in the panel upgrade process?

The total cost for the panel upgrade will not be an issue since I can always save up enough budget, as long as the the approximate cost is mentioned before hand... 

I've been using the S5 for about 6 months now. Just to give you an idea of what you're asking but before that, I am using the 1060 version.

All I can say about the cooling is that it works very well. I got mine with the Diamond Thermal Compound which was free due to some promotion. I play games like Rise of the Tomb Raider at max settings for everything, the temperature peaks at around 68 to 72 Celsius, which I think is pretty good when compared to a Lenovo Y50 I used to have. That peaked at around 95 for the same game.

Another example, Overwatch, Tera and Titanfall 2 peaks around 68 to 72. Idle temperature is around 38 to 42. Standard browsing, Youtube, MS Office and other productivity work doesn't affect the temp much so it stays around the same as idle temperature.

Now the noise is something you need to be concerned about if you like gaming in quiet environments. It's pretty loud when they're spinning in AAA games. Not loud enough to distract you if you have the speakers set to high volume or if you put on some headphones. I don't consider this a problem as my volume is always set high as the speakers are top notch.

Can't complain about the performance either. The only game I had performance issues with is Rise of the Tomb Raider when I max out everything. Frame rates drop to around 45 FPS in certain parts of the game(this is just me, 45 FPS is actually very good for gaming). Other games like Titanfall 2 get a constant 70+ FPS and Doom stays above 80 FPS at all portions of the game with everything cranked to the max. Not suitable for 1440p gaming or 4k gaming though you can get away with 1440p gaming if you lower some options. Most options don't really make a difference anyway.

I just noticed they have the S5 Lite today. You might wanna consider that too. Everything is the same as the S5 but with a 1060 3GB.

Nah I didn't change any settings for overclocking the GPU or fan.

70c is quite ok in my books. My only regret from buying this laptop is not going for the 1070 version.

Just read the post between z5 and s5. I planned to buy illegear laptop. Currently, I'm looking into z5 and s5 lite. However, z5 has 6gb gtx 1060 in compared to s5 (3gb).

Which will be the best?

I would like to use it for gaming, mapping and editing. Using ArcGIS, Illustrator and other adobe software.

Does the Power cord/AC Adapter included in warranty?

Because I can hear buzzing sound when connecting the power cord and the ac adapter and if it move a little bit around the the connection, the laptop won't charged.
