QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 18 2016, 03:33 PM) Just recieved my unit from Courts ( gdex) Uncle benny, I know you don't put SP on your phones ever but what do you think about the latest video that shows the GN7's GG5 scratched by object with MOH'S hardness of 4? That guy who made the video commented it is just one step above plastic.I had called them for tracking number and the courier reached me after i hung up the call! I'm currently using S7e naked without much issues. Will you be having second thoughts? I know I am. |

QUOTE(choon hon @ Aug 19 2016, 09:47 AM) Haha I did not turn on the Blue Light filter though. I actually went to check with other brand phones and I realized the Note 7 screen has a slight yellowish tint to it, pretty noticeable if you compare the phones side by side. Yellowish means the white point is closer to 6500K, and 6500k is actually the more accurate white point under the sRGB standard. Digital camera and web content are designed for this white point. Not sure if I am the only one having this should i say 'problem' =/ I'm personally using Basic in Screen Mode display settings to achieve this. Standard AMOLED is too colorful and inaccurate for me. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 19 2016, 08:04 AM) Even with 100mAh power less than S7e I would say the Note7 battery life is quite good How about durability of the screen? There's a youtube scratch test video showing screen being scratched at MOH hardness 4, and this is the only scratch test video I've found so far. He also did the same for S7e and it has much better resistance at 6.On mainly internet based stuffs ( browsing, tweeter, nwwsfeed, whatsapp, Facebook, YouTube etc) with no gaming my extrapolation showed easily 6+ hours SOT. On my ex S7e it was consistently 7-8 hours I believe with more charging periods and battery life will be close to S7e For me minimum SOT I would be happy is 5-6 hours The better SOT I had experienced so far are : Mate7, Mate8: - - 10-11, A9pro 13-14, MiMax 11-12. These are phones with bigger battery capacities Those who are worried about the edge sensitivity I would say is a non issue at all. The curvature is significantly lesser than S7e, S6e. I do love the edge features though some might not. I know you're not using SP so would like to get your feedback. |

QUOTE(choon hon @ Aug 19 2016, 10:10 AM) Hey, yeah i realized when i switched the Screen Mode display to Basic, it will be more yellowish. I'm currently on Adaptive setting, it is definitely more white than Basic, but still when I compare with other phones, the screen is still not as white or should i say close to the white point (6500K). Is this normal ? It means other phones are just too inaccurate/blueish 6500K looks slightly yellowish if you're not used to it. It's actually the same color as daylight outside. I used to like very cool white (blueish) as well but as I grow older I feel it's more of a strain on my eyes. The display accuracy in Basic mode is so good that Anandtech review mentioned "There’s basically no room to discuss for improvement here because the calibration is going to be almost impossible to distinguish from perfect." For me I'm just happy there's no green tint like my previous old Notes series. |

Anyone using the Note 7 naked?
I haven't been using screen protectors for my past 3 phones including s7e and are happy with no scratches. However with the scratch test done by JRE I'm very hesitant to do this on my N7. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 19 2016, 10:35 AM) Hmmm, no choice I guess. Don't really like the non-tempered glass SP as it interferes with the user experience too much. Display becomes inaccurate and smudged easily, rough surface, ugly, etc. Lifting SP also causes dusts and bubbles which I can't stand due to my 'OCD'Was wondering if the guy reviewing the unit got defective screen as there's no other such scratch test video review so far and all news website reporting of easy to scratch gorilla glass 5 on N7 are based on this sole video posted yesterday. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 19 2016, 11:06 AM) For the first time I will probably buy a SP for this Note 7. The video by Jerry is not encouraging as it show its scratch ability resistance is low. Anyway my phone is always protected with a flipcase Thank you for your keys and coins test.Anyway I had tested trying to scratch with car keys and coins and there is no scratch at all. Jerry tested it using a very sharp pointed tool I don't place my phone together with my keys, coins or any other remotely sharp object so it should be fine. Will wait for another day for more online scratch tests and comments before deciding to use my phone raw. |
