its funny how that the prob car at hand now is a myvi, n i can see that almost everybody is advising her 2 keep that car eventhough its problematic.. if she were 2 have....... say a problematic gen2 or a waja 4 example, im very very sure n certain that everybody will advise her 2 dump that myvi eventhough she'll lose a whole load of cash.. funny isnt it?? rolleyes.gif

anyway, back 2 question at hand.. id say given the 2 choices, go 4 the swift.. its better in every single aspect.. the only thing i could find good bout the peugeot is that it has a folding hard top.. that too isnt quite an advantage, as someone had pointed b4, this is malaysia.. not the french riviera..

I've pointed this out long time ago. .. malaysians mentally SUX - they are hipocrites - they love selective bashing.

and they're indirectly responsile for the death of R3 time attac which is the only avenue for grassroot motorsport ... if it's a proton having this problem this thread wil become bashing ground.

a 9 month old myvi shouldn't have this problem...the hole on the undercarriage near the pedal due to stamping error existed since first batch myvi since 2005... just send ur car to SC to rectigy it.no point buying new car if the car still can run fine...

HOWEVER, if you are someone like me which would be depending on ur monthly wages to pay for petrol / instalment, I would suggest u to think twice before commiting to a new car. An average fresh graduate would find it difficult to service loan / petrol for a kancil (from my own experience). I am into my 5th year of working life, I find Swift beyond reach and I suppose that applies to many others. Kancil, Myvi..  Swift, Vios.. they are made for the same purpose... only cars smile.gif

The best, as I mention before is to join a car club (preferably the car that you want to buy) and get to know the car from these people first. That's how you do research, talk to people who owns the car not those who doesn't. Personally, I feel that a lot of people here have a lot to say about cars but all they've driven is a Proton or a Perodua. They practically know nuts about a Suzuki or a Peugeot and 'stories' and 'myths' circulate among these people to others who plan to buy a car.

Also, unless you're earning 3K above with epf, etc. I sincerely doubt any bank will offer you a loan for the Suzuki Swift... unless you buy it under your parents name or someone else. As far as I know, the 0% interest for the 1st 2 years is absorb by Lion's Group or something.

U tok like u know alot... but u even said u a swift is out of ur reach, and i dun see ppl are toking nuts about the 206 and swift..... and alot non-proton or non-perodua driver still bash proton car like no tomorow.....

Actually i put up 206cc as my bf likes it......

and i just like its cool outlook~

Personally I like swift~
i went to showroom and test drive~ It gives me a really good intention to get it~

If your bf likes the 206 so much, then get him to buy it himself.
Go for the Swift yourself, if loan is ok.

i agree totally dude.. fnf is not civilize place 2 talk bout or get advice on cars.. coz all we get here r a bunch of skyline gtr n evo wannabee noobs!! they juz join yesterday, n then straight away bash like nobodys business, this is no lie as im sure many of u guys have seen members like this b4 too.. ive even encountered some whos commenting on cars like hes jeremy clarkson, but yet cant drive n dont even possess a driving license!! hahahahaha.. this is the type of people who spoils fnf..

btw, back 2 topic at hand.. TS, i think agree wit some of us here in saying that its a waste 2 get a new car.. juz go find another SC or find a reliable outside mechanic.. surely ur dad or bf or relatives have a regular workshop that they go to..

btw hypermount, good post!! i always like reading ur posts thumbup.gif

Yea, I know nuts about cars or the Swift.

I know for a fact about the problems I posted about the Swift because I was planning on buying a car. How do I know? Because I browse auto clubs forums for info by reading Peugeot, Citroen, Alfa Romeo, Nissan and Suzuki Club Forums for sometime as part of research. Thats what I got out from owners of these cars. I personally drive a Suzuki Grand Vitara. What about you?

Why do you see people bashing local cars so much? Perhaps, you shouldn't limit yourself to one or two source of information. Perhaps, local cars really do suck. Who knows... rolleyes.gif

haha agree on the topic above, whatever happened to vvip guest, lol my say is , always go for the car u want and u like, no point listening to ur bf or whatsoever, its ur car, u pay for it, u drive it. whats good if ur bf wants u to buy a bomb and make u finance to the maintenance, totally not cool. my only say as an alternative to the 206cc is the toyota mr-s, that should do

i only comment the car which i driven b4 and and i will comment it deeper if 1 of my family own the car..... thats y i normally here will comment on vios, gen2 and waja... later will be some japanese car might be a accord or a camry... and i will comment on the problem which i look at my own eyes.. i dun comment or bash blindly... and about swift and peoguet... both are good car but cannot say great car coz there are cars better den those 2 as well...i dun really believe in car's club forum since i'm didn't see it on my eyes.... so i just read and remind me with whats the common problem if i wanted to buy that cars... but not until believe every car got the same problem like most of the forumer here thinks all gen2 have the same problem.... i guess u shouldn't limit urself to think all the proton car has the same issue too beside the material is lower den others.. this we all know is a fact....and ofcoz i driving a gen2 and i'm happy with it... going strong 2 years without power windows problem, door handle problem and etc etc (touchwood).... fyi mine is 2004 model which u can hear alot ppl say 2005 batch above has the less problem.... if u think my word offended u den i'm sorry just to say out the facts that i believe in a more fair mind.....

p/s: to TS.. sorry for all the OT tongue.gif sorry yah

Glad we can help.

But i believe since ur myvi is on loan better get another SC to fix ur car, rather than thinking to change to another car. You can get our help with the LYN's myvi owners thread in this section.
