If you really like tab chatting, why don't you just use Gaim, an open-source chat client that allows you to chat on MSN, gtalk, yahoo, icq, and even IRC and jabber. Contrary to waht people might think, tab chatting isn't a new thing.

ICQ, though ancient, is still alive and kicking, although it has lost majority of its market share to LiveMessenger and YM.

See how nice is the new ICQ.
I lost my password. Use the password retrieve system also cannot work. Type all the email it also said is wrong.
