How are the managers there like ? Are they friendly (easy-going), or are they strict (work-oriented) ?
How about the average age group (for developers and managers) ?

I also saw in one of the posts that there are multiple bonusses given a year (year-end, profit sharing & performance bonus) ? Is this true for every year so far ?

Manager? Everywhere also got good and bad manager.

Seriously Dell manager is so called people manage which only manage people and don't know about Technical stuffs.

Ask around and especially report to which manager before join Dell.. That's my advise.

i hv been with the company for 7yrs, i joined with few yrs of experience and climb from bottom. With the ultra tight budget of peformance review. i was still struggling with my monthly expense when i got married.

finally i found a job that is paying me real good money to join them, so i resigned on april 08.

i would like to share with you is, its a good company if you are fresh grad and can join for a year or 2 just to learn up all their process and technology (may b, depends on your dept). after which you can comfortably put Dell into your resume and start job hunting again.

reason i say so is they dont appreciate the employees, keep squeezing the budget and head count. Very much like a chinese style company when it comes to budget spending, travel or reimbursement. Talking abt travel... only a few ppl in the dept can travel coz they have good relationship with boss.

there are also on some senario you SHOULD join the company, when they are in need of certain unique skillset which is very hard to find. then they will offer you a very good package (sometimes >15k for a snr mgr). but they will not give u 15k on the first offer letter even they need u desperately, i got a fren they rejected their offer up to 4 times and yet he still get a salary that he wanted before he joins.

bottonline, is u will need to evaluate if u can cope with what this company will give u and take away from u along the way.

I have a close relative working in Dell Cyberjaya and told me about this.
Dell Cyberjaya is a nice place if you are fresh graduate or looking for an easy job.For those experience geeks they will feel bored and perhaps feel unstatisfied basically a deskjob, oh well their job advertisement will tell you how technical and good you have to be. Don't buy it.
Working collegue I heard is good BUT their so called ppl manager in Cyberjaya basically all shooting blank, 10something come to work, send a few mails or a meeting, 1 to 2 oclock something lunch time, 4-5 o clock tea time, 6 'o clock go home. Can ask anyone who worked in Dell cyberjaya more than a year and they will tell you the story. They once said with or without the ppl managers in Dell Cyberjaya the operation still run because the contribution of the mgr is 2 main thing approve leave and OT. Well if you see any position hiring for ppl Manager in Dell Cyberjaya go for it man.

I had a phone interview for a tech writer position at Dell CJ last week; I think it went well.

They called me for another phone interview this week with their hiring manager who's calling in from Austin.

Is this a good sign?:3

It should be a good sign. Else, Dell would not have wasted any time getting you through another round of interview.

Example would be in the Technical Support department for Australia & New Zealand. All new employees would have to go through a round of simulated call from an Australian employee (of manager level).

It depends on the position that you have applied. Most of the MNCs today would prefer to source for new employees from job-hunting agencies since any unsuitable employees can be terminated instantly without much procedures to go through.

As usual, if your performance is good, there should be no problem to get yourself converted to permanent or undergo internal transfer to other departments. smile.gif
