Hi guys, i just got myself a white W810i. Was browsing thru the first few posts, read thru the FAQ and stumbled upon this: QUOTE 9. How Long do I need to charge the phone for the first time? Approx. 8 hours Is this really neccessary nowadays with lithium batteries? Nothing in the Sony Ericsson instruction manual has mentioned it. Fact or fake? Added on March 18, 2007, 8:49 pmI would suggest it be ousted from the FAQ if it's not true as newer phones tend not to use NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries anymore. As the BST-37 battery used in W810i is lithium-based, this 8 hours charging would have no effect. Perhaps this article would give some enlightenment: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/print-partone-12.htmThis post has been edited by leadaxer: Mar 18 2007, 08:49 PM

QUOTE(juzQriouz @ Mar 18 2007, 09:44 PM) w810i is using lithium polymer. Is it same thing apply to its battery also.? I guess so coz it is lithium based and not nickel based. But then i'm no expert, just based on the facts that i have read and analyzed.

QUOTE(arsenwagon @ Mar 18 2007, 11:22 PM) li-po and li-ion.. theyre different, but i guess u wouldnt need to charge 8 hours.. Basically they're the same. Li-Po came from Li-Ion and is called Lithium Ion Polymer which differs mainly in terms of design.
