regardless of how many candies you used for each evolve, you only get awarded 500XP (x2 with lucky egg). so spam the most 'cost effective' lvl up is spam on pidget, caterpie and weedle

Yes you get extra 500XP (x2 with lucky egg) if you evolve something you never caught

but your candy cost will be more than double to evolve pidgeot. (50 vs 12) You can effectively upgrade 4 pidgets (48 candies required) vs 1 Pidgeotto (50 candies required)

so my advise is still spam evolve pidget, as your aim is to get more XP and lvl up.

Once your level is higher you are bound to find these pokemon in the wild somewhere, or you can just evolve one for collection.

The goal of mass evolving is to get the necessary experience. Hence, i always evolve the pidgey, caterpie and weedle as it is the "cheapest" to evolve.

However, i tend to look out before i trade off my Raticate as some of them may have a very high damage attack for their Hyper Beam. For the Pidgeottos, i just trade them all. 

just prepare more, I think 80 is sufficient unless you do the restart thing. sometimes my phones longer than usual to log in so I just let the game flow.

mark all the pokemon you wish to evolve as favourite, you should do at least 50-60 easily depending on how many new pokemon there is.

I'd suggest to level to 25 first before attempting to build your dream team. But if you're getting restless & wanna take down gyms already, at least evolve your good IV Eevees? Eeveelutions are decent Pokemon except for Vaporeon, that's damn imba strong.

Then other targets you wanna consider are Vileplum, Victreebel, Exeggutor, Gyarados.

If you get any high IV Pokemons, evolve it & see whether it'll learn good move set or not. Then only consider powering it up.

u evolve too early without power up I guess

power up b4 or after evolve is the same
so evolve it 1st and check on the move set then make ur decision

It take same amount of candies to power up then evolve or evolve then power up. Evolve your  first then only power up if got good moveset.

Nope ,each pokemon have maxinum capped CP ,let say u have a pikachu each power up give u 10cp and evolve to raichu x 2.0 CP ,but power up raichu u will get 20cp instead

Pokemon like nidorina is pretty common to find and quite easy to get from egg...evolve if you managed to get a good one...
