Anyone here who drifts in GT4?
Yes, i do drift in GT4 with my PS2 joysticks only. Any kind of drifters with anykind of joysticks, arcade sticks, steering wheels are welcome.

My other favourite drift car is SILEIGHTY. Most of them comes from the Initial-D anime, i wonder why these cars drifts better.

haha. that one too is "Powderful" for me handle with a ps2 joystick ler... HP too big for me to handle... if you can drift with it, why not?

there's also another HKS FC green color one, forgotten the actual name for it... i prefer that though...

yes. i think so it's from BP... i just restarted my GT4 English career last night... i've been playing it in in GT4 chinese since launch... last night only manage to get 2 silver licenses up... international one half way thru only... i suck at rally tracks coz i can't handle 4WDs... haha

my favorite track is Autumn Ring Mini.

started my drift lesson there, lone ranger going round the track non-stop for hours... phew... those were the days... i still brush up my skills with that course...

I like it too,but i prefer Autumn Ring Mini (reverse)downhill...I still can't drift perfectly after crossing the bridge and whole long right corner,that section is abit hard to continue drift all the way..

i only manage to do the "long left" in the normal direction... haven't mastered long right yet...

my personal setting to your Shuichi Shigeno AE86 would be:

Horse Power: 214~218 HP
Tyre: N3 for front and back
Gears/Clutches: All the best and adjustable ones, triple plate lah, fly clutch lah. etc
Brakes: I bought and install everything
Absorbers: Best ones, i didn't customize this though.
Gears ratio: I put overall setting to 5.
Driving aids: None, turn off everything is the best

This is all i have got... this version of AE86, engine can rev up to 10,000 but the power comes at much later stage, around 7,000 rpm and above. I prefer the SuperCharger as mid-range engine Revs gives enough power for me to start drifting dy...

Goto GTPlanet for detailed modding ok? the above setting is based on my cheapluck trial on error mod only. i hope this helps.

without ORI DS2, can't really drift right?

At 1st i only use copy DS2. Then i bought 1 ori DS2 just because of this game. Just want to drift. With the copy DS2 seem like i cant control the throttle very well. Throttle control is very important. Cannot just slam the throttle to the max all the way. The car will spin.

Same with steering control. But my left hand is weak. Hehehhe...i cant control it yet. I just tapped it lil bit while drifting.

anyone who has information or price list for GT Force Pro? Or Driving Force Pro? other than online, anywhere still selling this thing?

Saw 1 shop selling DFP in Sg. Wang. I didn't ask the price. But a shop nearby my area sold this thing around RM800. According to logitech website the current price is around USD129.99 means ~ around what, RM450? Source here. A lot cheaper when it first launch. RM1000+ if im not mistaken.

I'm a bit new to drifting. Can't really drift well in GT4. It's really hard to drift in GT4,right? But do it a lot in GT Concept. Maybe u sifus can teach me then. TS, Lakum, maybe? Sila beri tunjuk ajar.

I dont really know how to teach. I also not good. The only think i can say is...use N2 tyre....off driving aids....throttle and steering control.....practise. Thats all.....

Other thing....come play GT4 online with XLink....we can learn together. Hehehehhe...

Yup. Did all that already. Only gt4 needs more details on setting to drift. As for GT concept, I just use the Skyline Pace Car with standard settings to drift.

Currenly im having some problems setting up online/Xlink. I heard that u're guiding my little bro(also in the forum) how to setup xlink. I have other commitment atm. If not for sure I'll join u online.

its Driving Force Pro, i bought it for rm 850 3 years back. I think rite now the price is around rm 700 ~ 750. If you got extra money, go for Logitech G25. but gt4 doesnt support H gate shifter and clutch function IINM.

iam using PS2 Phat... maybe i'll get my cousin's Slim to go Online with you guys... then maybe can do double drifting dy... hehe...

hehe... they only have arcade mode... the only modification allowed is tyres and some extra horse powers... got ur hands itchy already?

Hehehhe....it enough. Use N1 tyre and off driving aids already enough to start drifting. Hehehehe.

BTW if u're playing on LAN, u only can change the tyre and have option to off driving aids. Cannot add extra horse power. Cannot use cars in garage. Thats what i use when playing online via XLink Kai.

What track do u guys play on to drift? For me, I prefer Autumn Ring 2(backward) rather than the the original Autumn Ring.

Dirifting on this GT4 is very hard la wei. Near impossible with and auto. Do u guys use the analogues sitck? So far i have only successfully drifted 4WDs.

Its hard, but not impossible. From what I understand this is due to the tyre dynamics.

Seen very good drifts in GTPlanet when they had the Drift Championship and it was really sweet to see those drifts.

how many here is AUTO drifters n how many is MANUAL drifters? ( transmission i mean )

i m practising useing a m3 to drift...lolz....but seems like a bit hard

tried something less powderful than M3? like those in "Used cars" or "Historical Showroom" types?

At 1st i play GT4 with auto transmission. Then when it time to learn to drift...i still use auto. Until then i realized that using auto can make me loose the power of the cars while drifting. It cannot let me have the perfect rev when i need it. So i changed to manual. Have to start over again. Learn to use manual in normal race.

At 1st i drift with auto...i always used handbrake. Hehehhe. I press handbrake together with throttle because i found that handbrake alone will make the car slower (RPM dropping). I changed handbrake button to R1 just want to make it easy to press with X (accelerate). That is when i use button...not analog on throttle and brake. Hehehhe....time has changed...

That's y lar, hard to control throttle with digital pads. I hate analogue sticks. Looks like i have to drift 4WDs forever. Btw, do u guys setup the car to counter steer alot?

hehe... manual ones drift better that's for sure...
i have about 1000+ days in GT4 with AUTO... iam now restarting the game in English version... will relearn to drive in MANUAL...

Until today i still dunno how put the save replay into my usb

I also like to drift with 4wd car,feels more power....My game completion only 68%

Replay cannot save to pendrive. Err..u can save it..but cannot play on pc...only can play the on PS2. Mean i save the replay and upload it to u..u download and put the replay in ur memory card to play it on ur PS2. Only can transfer using pendrive.

If still pics...u can save it to ur pendrive and view in pc.

U have to use video capture card if u wanna record ur replay.

GT4 can use cheats. I use Codebreaker just to get money to buy cars and parts to drift. I stop playing grip style race long ago so i dont care about game completion

BTW, if u couldnt find or dont have cheat device, u can download GT4 savegame and transfer it to mem card. Lots of variation of savegame available at gamefaq.com such as lots of cars in garage, lots of money, 100% complete (i use this to unlock tracks on arcade mode to use in online play).

Most of the savegame at gamefaq.com is in Action Replay Max format. U can transfer it using pendrive. Of coz using Action Replay Max cd.

If u want to transfer using Codebreaker...u have to convert the savegame tu Codebreaker format. U can use PS2SaveBuilder.

Err..i dont know where to get Codebreaker...

I got the same shuinshi ae86 and it drifts great. just buy all the parts then start one by one fit the cars tuning to sports except the exhaust.

nearly 4 yrs... it comes back... now got gt5 already...
