Wayde van Niekerk: Liverpool’s fastest fan

"I still don't know if I was running that race!"

South Africa's world-record breaking 400m Olympic champion, whose Twitter handle is @waydedreamer, felt like he was in the ultimate dream at a crazy Stadio Olimpico, deep into Saturday night!

Amidst the clamour over his world record, Van Niekerk said watching the Liverpool match against Arsenal earlier in the day had put him in the perfect mindset for his record breaking feats.

"I've got the world record now, and I've got Liverpool!"; he beamed, surrounded by the world's media, looking back on his 43.03 run, which broke Michael Johnson's long-standing mark.

"My brother is an Arsenal fan, too, so it was just a great night!"

"My whole family is here, and for them to see this is just amazing."

Van Niekerk's feats came just before what many had assumed to be the main event, the men's 100m final, featuring Usain Bolt.

Bolt won, as expected, but recognised what had gone on before.

"He came over and said ' I told you that you could do it! I told you that you could it!,"Van Niekerk beamed.

"He's one of the people I look up to, as well as Michael Johnson" he added.
As he spoke, athletes going past him stopped to take a selfie, interrupting a frenetic media scrum.

There, in the midst of it all, Liverpool's fastest fan stood, beaming like a child. And he took it all in his considerable stride.

Well lets hope other fans dont thinks the same way as G.Neville  (You might as well start a goal down with Moreno at left-back.”)

Give support to the players who show commitment wearing the Liverpool Jersey. If it still doesnt work out well Klopp should know better than us.
*
you might as well start with a foot in relegation with G Neville as manager.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 24 2016, 11:19 PM)
the thing with moreno is his built is obviously not meant for the physical english defending where u need to be like 6'3 and 77kg or something.
moreno is still a man trapped in a boy's body... and his lack of defensive manhood is further exaggerated by our confused defensive midfielders... lack of a good CB pairing... and Mignolet.
*
Only if you are a CB/CH.

Most backs are smaller in stature and weight. Look at Cashley Cole, Zabaletta: all pretty small in stature

moreno on the other hand...

Still smaller than 6' 2" . Those CB sizes. Moreno is not so much smaller than those 2.

yes i know, but i did say moreno is in a boy's body.
he obviously doesn't have the higher muscle mass % the rest have... guys like cylne or milner are all built pretty similar to cole etc.
moreno's built is closer to someone like couts.
*
ahem....you were comparing to 6' 2" biggrin.gif Those are big even for Brits

'I think that when fans of a certain disposition craved Klopp – when they hounded John Henry with every tweet – they were actually just wanting his Dortmund team, and his Dortmund success. They didn’t want the process where his Dortmund side went from average to outstanding over two-to-three years, probably because they didn’t even notice it – unless they were keen Bundesliga aficionados. They just saw the exciting team Dortmund had become and thought “want that”. Sure, but how did Klopp make it?' You wanted Klopp, we've got Klopp. Stop the moan and enjoy the ride. - Paul Tomkins

Hahaha he's just being realistic bro. For every giant slain there will be blip like that of Burnley as a tribute to the football gods. That's just the Liverpool way. Anyone who thinks otherwise is called delusional, not a true fan.
*
Realistic?

Go support some else if you find yourself wishing Liverpool to lose. That's realistic.
