Against Chelsea, most probably Klopp will stick to the same team. Couth as sub. Still risky to start Karius in goal.

Terry won't play, Luiz will; which might be a good thing coz Luiz loves to attack. We might just be able to exploit that with Mane and DS or RF.

Costa will again be the dangerman.... He'll provoke, act, dive etc.. to get a freekick, pen or even cards for us.

They will focus down the right (our left). I think Conte is an experienced a manager as Unai Emery from the Sevilla game and they will recognize and push our weak spot. Not saying Milner is weak but he is makeshift. I'm surprised none of the other managers we faced exploited the left side.

Ya, their best shot will be attacking our left. Milner or Moreno will hv to be at their best.

Or, we play heavy metal, stun them until they don't even know how to attack!

i thought milner fare pretty well as left back? my biggest concern is still silly defensive mistakes and mignolet inconsistent performance.

the problem with playing any kind of midfielder in defence is their mindset.
midfielders usually attempt to attack the ball, and if they miss then there is a big gaping hole there...while defenders are more keen to close down empty spaces.
so in that essence, moreno should be converted to a left winger tongue.gif

trying to limit milner to just stay in the lower left half of the pitch is usually a losing battle, cos as the game goes on...eventually milner will somehow wander higher up into the middle of the pitch...

Yeah, a few times Milner was out of position vs Leicester but Hendo covered him. In fact, not saying this is tactically wrong, but see his and Clyne position for our first goal. If Lucas had misplaced the pass, we would be in trouble. It is a risky game playing with wingbacks, that's why so many ppl were upset Klopp didn't sign a natural DM to cover. But I;m sure Klopp knows the deficiencies and is addressing them in training.

Midfielders are conditioned, attuned to attack and play the ball. We see that in Milner and also Can. While it can be rewarding, leaving space behind can be a WTF moment! Speedy attackers will leave us exposed.

Can will not feature in this game; at least not gonna start. We need to deal with the Bully, and Hendo may need to be at his very best. Remember last time Hendo gave Costa the stare.... Damn gaya!

I still cannot forget the stamping on Can.... rclxub.gif
Btw anyone has watched Chelsea game lately, I'm puzzled that Moses is playing regularly... hmm.gif has he improved significantly under Conte. Coz I remember him playing in our jersey... it wasn't that good

Hope we get to play football with Chelsea, or any sort of over aggression outside 'play'.

They had a perfect start until the last recent draw game.

It will be tough match, might be something like against Spurs.

The problem is that our team has been consistently inconsistent.

Against a well-drilled Conte side, this should be a tough, low-scoring affair.

I will go and hope for a 2-1 win.

It will be a cautious approach in midfield.

Do you agree in espn they mentioned that our lack of holding midfielder will be exposed against Chelsea....?

a lack of DM? exposed?
probably only against a team that relies heavily on quick counter attacks.
with both mostly on possession, and our midfielders should be smart enough with ball at their feet... then it should just come down to whichever defence makes more mistakes...

technically tho, gigi can and has played DM for Holland during the world cup...
then we still got hendo... so they both can take turns rotating.

I guess Hendo is still learning in that deep DM position...
I kind of agree with Klopp comment, its a young Liverpool side against more experienced Chelsea
