I think you are not well verse with Toyota tongue.gif

It's VVT-i = Variable Valve Timing with intelligence

Btw it's not equivalent to VTEC since it doesn't have valve lift alteration unlike VVTL-i which developed by toyota later on.

More hp does not necessarily better top speed. It depends, If you have trash gearbox (bad ratios) you won't go anywhere laugh.gif

Yes, more torque means more power, If you are in touge racing given scenario eg: uphill, I'm sure turbo(or any force induction) powered will pwned the vtec although both engine has the same hp and displacement but the torque is different. A good example is Honda S2000. It has rotten torque but good hp.
