There are two login methods:

1. Google Login
2. PTC

If you register a new PTC account and login your PTC account in the game, you will get the save file from your PTC account, in this case, a fresh start.

They aren't linked so for those who want to restart the progress, they can use this trick without having to register a new Google account.

They are using separate login server so if PTC is down, you won't be able to login till it gets fixed and vice versa.

You can view your details on PTC website if you have a PTC account.

Google account in this game is just a "plain" account and doesn't have any frontend interface/website which is solely for the authentication and cloud save purpose only.

Many people have chosen to use Google login because no registration is required and PTC registration was closed in the last few weeks due to massive traffic jams laugh.gif

You need to check the level and prestige of the gym, if it is level 2 then the gym can have 2 Pokémon from the same team and so forth.

Fight (or in another word, "train") the gym to increase the prestige level so you can put your own Pokémon there.

Yes, many redditors said they are able to stack them up.

But if you want to level up faster, it is better to use your lucky egg when you have at least 60+ pidgey/weedle/caterpie waiting to be evolved (make sure you have enough candies too), 1000 EXP per evolve so you can easily farm 60000 EXP in just 30 minutes.

Haha, the evolution animation lasts for 20 seconds, add 10 more seconds for you to click the next Pokémon to evolve it so you can do 2 evolution in 1 minute, you can get at least 60 evolution in 30 minutes, that's 60000 EXP.

If your finger is fast and have a fast phone then it can be 65 - 70 evolution, I tried yesterday, was able to hit 68 biggrin.gif

No, if the attacker failed to lower down the prestige point then your Pokémon will stay in the gym.

Gym level follows its prestige point and 2000 prestige points are needed for each level.

Sometimes yea, the app needs to sync with the server when you move or when server refreshes the nearby Pokemon list.

When your network is slow to sync then it will cause some delays.

If they use incense then you won't see the Pokemon spawned by it.

No need change telco unless your current one really sucks in all the locations you visit frequently.

Incense only benefits the activator, meaning you won't see what he/she sees and he/she won't see what you see too, it is totally independent.

It is chosen based on the weaknesses. But sometimes the system is quite dump, it only takes the final Pokemon in the Gym as consideration, so for example, if the Gym has 2 Pokemon in defense, the weaker one being an electric type Pokemon and the final "boss" as fire type Pokemon, the first chosen Pokemon in your list might be a water type Pokemon (water > fire), but you might lose out in the first battle, since electric > water.

Of course you can choose, you just cannot put a non full HP Pokemon in the gym.
