PTC is just like another google account.
But PTC records all your pokemon games info (Pokemon game series, Pokemon TCG, Pokemon TCG Online, Pokemon Go....)

TBH i dont see the point of using PTC account unless you do play the pokemon series (Nintendo DS onwards) or Pokemon TCG (real or online).
Cause they record your online rankings as well as your local tournament rankings for those games.

You got 2 options:
1) Battle a friendly gym to increase the gym Prestige. When gym reaches a new level, it can accommodate another Trainer to Defend the gym.
2) Once there is an empty spot, you can assign 1 of your pokemons to help defend the place.

yes u can.
but i suggest u keep lucky egg for evolving.
get lots of pidgeys for evolution, then use lucky egg before evolving all of them.

i have 72 pokemons waiting to be evolved. thats 72k exp there. just dont think enough time to do in 30min

Just some rough calculation for Pokemon Go humor

Lets just say:
For every 4 Pidgeys, we transfer 3.
So we get 15 Candies and 1 Leftover Pidgey.

To get 60000 XP would require:
60 Pidgeys + 720 Candies + 1 Lucky Egg
(Assuming we only evolve 60 Pidgeys in 30min)

So for 1 Lucky Egg Batch of 60000XP, I would need to:
Catch 204 Pidgeys and transfer 114 of them.

For simplification purposes Im gonna disregard these 2:
1) Extra 36 Candies from catching 204 Pidgeys
2) Extra 60 Candies from transferring Pidgeottos

Now we need 20million XP from LV1 to 40.
(Assuming we dont take any other XP into account)
so 20000000 / 60000 = 333 Batch
333 X 204 Pidgeys per Batch
= 68000 Pidgeys to catch

Time to catch those fucking overpopulated birds people.
