Time for 144Hz master race  laugh.gif

Acer XB240H is below 1k now, if you own a compatible GSync enabled Nvidia GPU and you want to try out GSync then you can look for XB241H (around 1.8 - 1.9k), but your display type will be "downgraded" from IPS to TN.

would you rather go for ips or tn?? 144 or Glorious IPS colors

all GPU models are the same?
Performance wise...
should I get the most cheap version of the 1070 or pay extra and get the higher priced ones?
*
get rx480 or wait for radeon vega

cheap gpus are ok for short term, bad for long terms stuff.

i regret buying a cheaper gpu because more dust, hotter, and bad power delivery

Thanks for your kind reply guys. Will look into suggested hardwares. One question though, any suggestion for GPU that support Dolby/DTS encoding for KODI and Netflix?
*
thats software based, change the settings if you want 5.1 audio . there is no gpu that can decode it natively, the hdmi compliant ports carry data that a receiver can decode. so if you are sending the DTS/DOLBY data it will be able to read it.

if you want to use audio over other connections then you would want the SPEAKER SETUP (<-- Click me) to be able to decode it (pc>speakers setup over Coaxial/TosLink) or just over digital TosLink (optical cable/found at the back of most modern motherboards) which other appliances that support it can read the data and decode the DTS/Dolby audio

most onboard audio chips by realtek have content protection that you need. if you dont have content protection you might be unable to use legitimate sources for surround sound

If you want 5.1 audio on Netflix you need to download the Netflix app on the windows store or use microsoft edge only. Netflix using other browsers(chrome, firefox & opera) only support 720p stereo due to copyright restrictions (prevent piracy)

this handicap is only for Movies, games dont need a receiver for 5.1/7.1 audio because the dont use Dolby/Dts. You can just use all the audio ports at the back of the motherboard for surround sound.

AMD Ryzen has no official launch date. Also, AMD Malaysia is known to overprice a new product comparing to US prices.

Try Dell S2316H at RM659 from dell.com.my . This monitor is glossy though. Or you can try Acer R241Y at RM649.

im actually using the Dell S2316H. has noticeable backlight bleeding though and a cheap & clunky plastic stand. Speakers need some burn in time to sound good (acceptable for youtube/netflix/crunchyroll).

would go for the Acer biggrin.gif

but the nice sales guy gave me a discount for this dell @rm500 (ty sales guy)

and no im not affiliated with any company, just have too much time rn and decided to help people on the forums

EDIT: AOC also makes some budget monitors around that price, the stand looks really nice and made out of metal. and its actually a bit bigger being 23.8 inches compared to the dell I own @ 23 inches

EDIT 2: LG makes an awesome Freesync monitor if you have an AMD gpu @Rm 520 full hd IPS 75hz (im personally gonna buy this)
