Guys need some suggestion. Do you think I should upgrade to Kaby Lake from Ivy Bridge? From what I read Kaby Lake is basically the same as Skylake in terms of process and architecture. But thing is I have a chance to get Kaby Lake cheap so I'm not sure to wait for next gen or just get it for now.

Not worth to upgrade if you are paying full amount for it.

But if you can get it at a very "attractive" price then why not? Just make sure you don't have to top up too much from your current Ivy Bridge (I assume you gonna sell it off)  biggrin.gif

Hmm depending on the sell price might not need to top up much but I still need to get new mobo and DDR4 ram. My main concern is whether its worth getting Kaby Lake now since Intel is going to release their mainstream 6 core chips in 2018 and that time maybe games also require 6 core processors or maybe I'm thinking too far ahead laugh.gif

If that's the case then I recommend you to save the money for next big upgrade instead biggrin.gif

Hopefully my Ivy Bridge can last at least 2 more years biggrin.gif

Do you guys suggest I get MSI Z270 Pro Carbon or Asus Strix Z270F?

To me Pro Carbon looks nicer but I'm wondering which one can give better OC?

Both are equally good to me, they have solid build quality, there are plenty of reviews available online. If you happen to own a compatible Asus GPU (& other compatible aura sync enabled hardware like selected Phanteks casing and G.SKill TridentZ RGB RAM), you will be able to utilize the RGB aura sync features if you choose Strix Z270F.

Hmm then say for example will there be any difference if I go for the MSI Tomahawk rather than the Pro Carbon? Since specs wise they are the same other than the RGB lighting.

MSI Tomahawk is one tier lower than Pro Carbon.

They do have similar amount of power phase count (10 which is very good for stable OC), but Tomahawk doesn't support Nvidia SLI and RGB lighting.

If I dont use SLI and RGB lighting its ok right?
