Casing is not listed in the hardware to reuse list, so you need a new casing too?

Good analysis  thumbup.gif

All of these can be a reference for him to build his rig  biggrin.gif
The performance RAM @ 2800MHz will be downgraded to 2133MHz automatically because the mobo picked doesn't support RAM speed > 2133MHz.

Any MOBO around 600-700 you'd recommend for this setup? Thanks.

And is the i7 necessary or will I be better to just pick the i5 6600k and spend the extra money on a good mobo

Since you aren't going to get an overclockable setup, the i7 6700 will be a better pick than i5 6600K in this case.

You can consider these options if you want to stick with high speed RAM (between RM 600 - RM 700):
1. MSI Z170A Gaming Pro
2. Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI
3. Gigabyte Z170-HD3P
4. Asus Z170-K

Hi I'm looking to get a 250gb ssd as boot/programme drive to speed up my rig.

What is the best bang for the buck SSD in the 250gb range?
Usually this will be the cheapest 250gb ssd or close to same price but with higher performance.

Need some recommendations from tech PC gurus here.

I'm planing to built my PC rig soon by early November. The primary usage of the rig will be heavy video editing, video rendering and video conversion (no Maya 3D stuff) just things like Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator etc. and some occasional web surfing. Will be used for heavy multitasking video and visual based editing tasks not gaming or 3D rendering.

Budget is RM3.5K however I am willing to stretch the budget a bit more if absolutely necessary. My criteria are:

CPU: Skylake i7 processor

Mobo: Z170 chipset, preferably ASUS or MSI brand, at least one USB 3.1 or USB Type-C port

Memory: Minimum 12GB DDR4, any brand

Graphic: Any card as long it's competent for video editing tasks, preferably ASUS, MSI or Zotec brand

Storage: Any HDD, don't mind the size

Optical Drive: Not needed

PSU: Any decent PSU model that can support all of the above components

Case: Any casing, preferably with easy access to the case USB ports

Operating System: Not needed, already have a genuine Windows 10 license ready

Mouse, keyboard, monitor and speakers are not needed. Already have all of those.

As you are getting a non-K CPU, an AIO is really not necessary. Instead, get a good air cooler eg Cryorig, Noctua. There will be no risk of leakage and/or pump failure

You can swap to GTX1060 3GB if you wish to do so. If you plan to get SSD together then you need to downgrade the i5 to i3 (or possibly GPU as well), but this is not worth considering SSD doesn't boost gaming performance in terms of frame rate other than just loading time, I will rather just add it later when I have more funds.

Techview will move to new location (SS2) starting tomorrow onwards, please check out their FB to find out the new address if you want to get all the parts from them.

If you want to stick with 24" then another choice would be Acer K242HL.

Need some suggestion.
[Budget]500-1500

[Purpose]Looping single Full HD video non-stop on two monitor (DVI and HDMI)

[Hardwares that will be re-use]Nope

[Monitor resolution] Must support 1920x1080, 1 unit enough

[Games & softwares that use frequently] KMPlayer

[Personal preferences]Cheap but reliable

[Location]KL

If using SSD for videp playing will minimize it lifespan?

SSD lifespan will decrease gradually overtime, but looping video doesn't require the use of SSD if you are low on budget, even a 4K video will still load fine on a 7,200 RPM HDD.

So you need a PC that can do this simple looping task and 1 FHD monitor?
