Hi bro, I found the vengeance led same spec with the lpx for about RM5 cheaper. Why does the led cheaper than the lpx? How about the performance comparison?
*
RAM price is always like that, changing almost everyday.

Another possibility is the seller is still selling the LPX at old price so the LPX is slightly expensive than LED.

Performance is around the same if they have similar speed.

But lpx is better at overclocking and cooling?
*
LED is the improved version of LPX with the new brushed aluminum heat spreader on the LED part to cool the RAM chips. Temperature should be lower than LPX with improved cooling method.

Hello! I am back! Wanna ask the pros here.

MSI H110i Pro AC comes with WiFi card right? Or we need to sendiri buy a PCIe WiFi card and slot it there?

Bro terence_nwb, I will be getting the parts this weekend liao!!! Waited for a few weeks and went to COMEX 2016 but didn't get any good deals there. Times like this mana ada good deals lahh.

sweat.gif
*
Yes, AC (mobo model) indicates WiFi (Bluetooth as well) card is included.

Usually it is hard to find good deal in those fairs/events for PC hardware, mostly laptop and accessories sad.gif

MSI H110i PRO AC comes with Bluetooth mehh?? But it's not stated in the spec sheet on their website lehh. Please correct me if I am wrong.
*
Sometimes spec sheet doesn't state the "full" specs, I bumped into this issue many times before, mostly ASRock and MSI mobo, but luckily we have people doing review online to solve the puzzle.

I did a quick search, most of the articles/reviews do mention Bluetooth, so most likely it does come with Bluetooth. WiFi and Bluetooth are bundled into a single onboard card nowadays (many board makers and manufacturers followed this practice since few years ago).

QUOTE(woque @ Sep 16 2016, 07:10 PM)
cool. is there any quality low profile mATX casing with similar pricing in the market?

and will the upcoming kaby lake be using the same LGA1151 socket?
*
Low profile? Silverstone case might suit your requirement then, but the design and look of the case is just so-so.

Kaby Lake is said to use LGA1151 socket, but newer chipset will be introduced as well (200 series), the current LGA1151 socket mobo will be updated to work with Kaby Lake via BIOS update later on.

Downgrade to i3 and GTX750Ti, since this is considered as a "big" downgrade so you will need to lower down your expectation, for example, from high to mid/low settings in game.

Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 470
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 276
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 161
Palit GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 StormX - RM 488
FSP Hexa+ 450W - RM 166
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 209
Tecware F3 - RM 125
TP-LINK TL-WN722N USB WiFi - RM 45
AOC E2180SWDN - RM 318

Total: RM 2258 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Plan to resell it once my final year project ends. Age: Almost 1 year, built since October 2015

Too early to "judge" due to many external factors that can be contributed to the price of the hardware, MYR status, item status etc.

But my raw guess would be around 2.3k (based on current pricing and the 2nd hand market pricing).

what?! only 2.3k  mega_shok.gif
for real?! damn.. alright then i better keep this pc. originalyl thought of reselling it for mobile workstation.
*
Just look at used GTX970 price now, it is around RM 900, thanks to GTX1060, next year should be even lower when warranty is up, RM 800 perhaps?

As for the CPU, Kaby Lake is due soon, even though Haswell Xeon is still a competitive CPU but Intel CPU never have a big gap in terms of pricing between old and new CPU, new one is selling at the same price of old one so you can imagine what's gonna happen to used unit then, those sellers who want to clear the old CPU stock will try to "throw" price, but yea this rarely happens in Malaysia though sweat.gif

My suggestion is to keep it unless you want high portability, which you can swap to mITX (SFF) build so you can carry around, if you prefer all-in-one, then laptop/mobile device is still a better choice.

wut is da budget for a full set desktop system with similar performance as a basic dell inspiron 7559 model?
*
The cheapest Dell Inspiron 7559 is the one with i5 6300HQ + GTX960M + 8GB RAM?

If yes then the desktop equivalent specs would be i5 6400 + GTX750Ti + 8GB RAM which can be built around 2k, monitor not included yet, please prepare some money for it, same goes to keyboard/mouse/speaker.

Alright, 1k budget cannot do much, it's either CPU or GPU upgrade.

But I would go for GPU upgrade instead (GPU > all in gaming), RX470 4GB/GTX1060 3GB is below 1k now, when you have more funds later, upgrade the CPU to at least i5 when bottleneck starts to show up.

Eh guys I want to ask can Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming fits the Corsair Air 240? From the measurement seems able to fit but the card is quite long...hmm
*
Do you have any radiator installed at front? If no then it will fit, if yes then you need to measure the thickness of the radiator and the fans attached on it (pull only or pull and push).

No radiator I guess. Just normal air cooling set up. I am afraid the length of the GPU is too long til cannot fit although the spec sheets say can hmm.gif
*
Don't worry then, GTX1070 G1 Gaming's length is just 280mm, I had tried putting GTX970 G1 Gaming (299mm), it fitted nicely even with a radiator installed in front with two 120mm casing fans.

What you need to worry is the width, Air 240 doesn't have the width clearance needed by many cards out there, only G1 Gaming, FE cards (possibly more) are able to fit if you want to close the side window panel.

Hmm didn't notice the width could be a problem as well...do you think the Gigabyte 1070 Gaming G1 could pose a problem?
*
G1 Gaming is fine.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The width of some cards in the market is very "tall" or "long", so if you install these cards in Air 240, it's either you chop off the window panel for the PCIe power cable or leave the side panel open.

QUOTE(buzz123 @ Sep 19 2016, 10:58 AM)
So I've check with both etech and idealtech,

etech price
INTEL I5 6402P RM707
H110M-DS2 RM255
KINGSTON KVR2133MHZ 8GB DDR4 RM147
PALIT GTX1060 JETSTREAM 6GB GDDR5 RM1215
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 120GB SSD RM239
SEAGATE 1TB BARRACUDA RM207
FSP HEXA+ 550WATT RM185
TECWARE F3 RED RM119
ID COOLING 120L FROSTFLOW RM220

TOTAL RM3294

ideal tech
INTEL CORE I5 6400  775
ASUS H110M-K  253
G.SKILL AEGIS Series 8GB DDR4 2133mhz  169
PALIT GTX 1060 Jetstream 6GB DR5/192Bit (1708/8000) 1349
XIGMATEK X-Calibre 500W (80+/NON MODULAR)  199
Sharkoon VG5-W (BLUE)  199
SAMSUNG 750 EVO 120GB  229
SEAGATE 1TB Barracuda  219
1.FREE 150MBPS USB Dongle 0 0 0
2.FREE REBATED RM50 ON SHARKOON/Xigmatek/IN-WIN Casing -50 1 -50
Total and GST Included 3342

Question,
1. do i really need cooler for non k cpu? could use the extra money for 240gb ssd.

2. palit dual and palit jetstream, dual review is just good also. so its ok for me to go for dual rather than jetstream right?

3. etech after sale service ok or not? idealtech after sale service is damn good, but abit expensive.

4. both shops actually using local distributor parts right? no problem for rma services?

Thank you so much. sorry for long post. icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
1. You need a cooler, every CPU needs a cooler, but not all CPU require aftermarket cooler, non-K CPU runs fine on stock cooler.

2. If the price is too close, then Jetstream will be more worth since it comes with a better cooling solution and factory overclocked settings.

3. After sales services by ETech is ok for me, if you have issue with the item and want to send for warranty, just bring the item and receipt to the shop. If you want free pickup service, then you will have to choose Idealtech.

4. RMA largely depends on the local distributors, if they have technicians and parts available locally then pray hard that the item can be fixed in short amount of time, if not they will send back the item to the origin country to repair or exchange for a new unit, i.e. EVGA card is sent back to USA for RMA if I recall correctly.

*
Yea it is better to leave everything on "stock" unless you are planning to mod the chassis laugh.gif

I had this chassis last time but sadly it can only fit few GPU models, so I sold it off and bought another chassis for my current card.

Beware of the PCIe power cable as well, if the cable touches the side window then high chance it gonna leave a "scar" on the window itself.

Oh shit...the Air 240 seems a lot of trouble. The reason I am asking is that I am currently trying to convert my existing big case to mini ATX case like Air 240. Some part like hard disk, SSD and power supply I will use back..the rest have to change.
*
Air 240 isn't a "real" mITX case though since it can fit mATX mobo biggrin.gif

If you haven't bought this chassis yet then you can consider other model if you want to have minimum compromise.

EDIT: Oh Fractal Design Nano is like the quiet/silent case..not really into that. Corsair Air 240 seems easy to carry around. Else I will go with this:

http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv.html
http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-ITX.html
*
Air 240 is easier to carry around compared to Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX, I am using the latter now, owned the former one.

Air 240 is smaller and with limited clearance.

Evolv ITX is bigger and heavier, but you surely have enough clearance for your hardware, downside is the limited amount of drive slot.

Both have pros and cons.

I don't really use much of the drive slot. In fact I don't even use the dvd drive. Planning to give it to my old gaming rig. As long as the air flow is decent without overheating issue I guess I am okay. No plan for SLI as well.

I think if I were to pass down my GTX 970 to my old Cooler Master Elite 310 I will need to mod a bit like removing the hard disk cage...but then my hard disk put where? hmm.gif
*
Both models don't have DVD drive slot (or 5.25" drive slot) at all.

Air 240 - 3 3.5" & 3 2.5"

Evolv ITX - 2 3.5" & 2 2.5" (can add more 2.5" by getting the dual stack 2.5" drive cage)

I have a very aged Pentium 4 CPU and the design of the chassis is really doh.gif , I removed the HDD cage (blocked the wires) and "fixed" the HDD with cellophane tape at the bottom laugh.gif
