Been suffering knee pains whenver I go out for runs, especially longer ones. Almost put me out of this running thing, as the pain is not something I enjoyed getting. What could be the cause ?
I did stretch, am not overweight. Tried using 12mm, and now switch to 8mm, but problem remains. Thoughts ? |

QUOTE(lightworks @ May 12 2023, 06:23 PM) info isn't clear enough, & not quite understand what you're trying to tell 12mm/8mm The 12mm / 8mm I mentioned was the heel drop, sorry for mentioning it earlier. Feels like a burning sensation at the knee cap area (worse on the left knee than on the right) whenever my feet lands on the ground.which part of your knee? commonly happened is outer knee, which is ITBS. you have use foam roller to release the pain |

QUOTE(Buydirect @ May 30 2023, 04:48 PM) You did not mention your age, are you a veteran like me, where cartilage breakdown is a source of concern for runners. A condition called osteoarthritis, where the soft part of the knee joint is no longer in its prime state . I was told, even young people can experience this problem, tho it usually affects the elderly more. Is so, you may have to consider take supplements like glucosamine & condroitin , type 2 collagen , MSM etc... to prevent inflamation and further breakdown of the joint and possibly its repair too. I am in my 40s, but I have ruled out osteoarthritis, as the pain lessen by a lot when I changed my trainers to more branded ones. Ones that are intended for running (Previously, I was using those casual, buy-at-random) that are meant for casual wear |
