If I have high cholesterol, will it make it harder for me to run?
Just took up running last month. Can barely even run 2km non stop. Trying out couchto5k program.
Any budget friendly GPS HR watch to recommend?

QUOTE(nivlanauk @ Jun 30 2020, 11:33 PM) In my opinion, having a high cholesterol level would predispose you to high blood pressure, which would be the issue. hmmm so high blood pressure is why my heart rate spikes up quickly even tho just running for a while eh... fml...Since you just started running 1 month ago, the reason you could barely last 2km is due to a poor aerobic base. Just keep running & you'll improve. As always, a combination of aerobic & resistance training would be beneficial. |

QUOTE(Acoen @ Jul 12 2020, 11:33 PM) Do you strava? If yes, the activities in this watch does not sync to Strava. hmm yea was considering amazfit bip s and gts as well... i'm using nike run club at the moment..don't really fancy strava...Why not consider the Amazfit range of GPS watches like Amazfit GTR or Stratos 3? |

QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Jul 27 2020, 12:06 PM) If you're starting out - which I'm assuming you are since NRC has you doing a 5k as a long run, then I would suggest following their programme. Yes they're asking you to go at that 10 minute pace per KM although that's pretty much a walking pace. yea I'm a total beginner when it comes to running...just finished couch to 5k...so now trying out 10k hahI think these calculators are great as they provide objective paces for training. But not at the beginner stage when you're still trying to get the aerobic fitness to run without taking breaks. Also those paces are worthless unless they are used with properly designed workouts for what you're trying to achieve. |

sometimes, the weather when you run also affects your HR. I noticed my HR tends to drift higher faster if there's hot sun while running in the evening... if early morning cool weather, HR won't drift high...

QUOTE(RalphRatedR @ Aug 5 2021, 02:48 PM) Sorry for the stupid question. Are there actually any smartwatches with built-in GPS below RM200? This is my first time buying smartwatches & I want to use it solely for Strava. If I have to stretch my budget it'd be up to RM300. TQ. Amazfit maybe got around your budget...or huawei smart watch...prob need to check if its compatible with strava as well... |
