Been there bro, I bought Nike before because of their hyped and in my opinion is the best looking running shoes in the market.

Peg 39 is actually pretty versatile daily trainer.
It's just that now competition is so good in running shoes. There are better one for the price like NVB 3 like you experienced. Although very different character. So some may prefer the peg 39.

My problem with Nike current line up is that it fits really narrow. Might risk having bunion; specifically when you're having wide feet.

To share how narrow Nike shoes nowadays, normally I wear US 8, with other brand I can do lacing or half or half size up. But in Nike generally have to upsize to 11 or even 12 if I follow the width of my feet. it feels like wearing flippers lol  So I can't wear it without risking . Your millage may vary.

Nike has peg 39 with extra wide option online, I never able to find on the shop, so I skip, not worth the risk.

Another reason Nike isn't my current choice: it is also not known for the durability, Though they have the better if not best return policy. I heard some able to claim the alphafly that air zoom having "pecah" prematurely.
Not sure if also applied to everyone, or lower tier item.

What models (doesn't have to be Nike) are a little wider? I normally wear wide sizes but sometimes a half size up on M is fine.

What do you mean by up on M is fine? do you mean D, not 2E or 4E?

what type of shoes are you looking for? Daily trainer, tempo, recovery, stability, race day?
I am not expert but recently got bitten by running bug again, so keep researching and ended up buying too many shoes.
.......
Yes I mean D. I'm not an advanced runner so I just have several training and lighter shoes for faster and race day runs. I'll look into your picks.
