guys...

just started running early of the year max around 10-15km only, but when i do hilly runs going downhill my left knee started to hurt on the outer side? not swollen tho, anyone have this experience before. its gone the next 2 days after rest

Sounds likt IT band syndrome. I used to get it from long downhill runs. Managed to treat it by doing various leg stretches with an elastic band. Have not suffered from it once I started doing more strength training. Good luck!

Does anybody know where I can find Salomon trail running shoes in KL? World Of Sports/Outdoors don't carry them any more. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, 90Boyz. So there'll only be one official Salomon store in KL?

Anybody done the Borneo Ultra-Trail Marathon? Or other similar trail ultras? What was it like?

I have done a few shorter trail runs (less then 15km), and parts of it seemed more like hiking then running. biggrin.gif

I'm asking because I have a friend who asked me to join him in the BUTM 50km in early March. This doesn't give me much time to train (more used to 10km to 21km road races). I have a feeling it will end up more like a 50km hike then a run.

BUTM is much more friendly than TMBT brows.gif
to run a 50km you need atleast 40km per week or total 150km per month for your body to adapt the distance .

Thanks. Just watched a video of last year's TMBT 50km. Some of the climbs looked brutal. shakehead.gif

I'm glad BUTM is friendlier, but I still don't have much time left to train for it. I expect I will be dragging my half-dead body over the last part of the trail. smile.gif Luckily the cut-off time for 50km is a pretty generous 17 hours.

I wear Oakley glasses with prescription lenses when I run. Never had any problem with it.
