Serius question.

If i can run at world record marathon pace, 2:58min/km while crossing a 4 lane highway, why can't i expect at least a 2:20 marathon time. I have a feeling it's a shoe problem or maybe compression socks problem.

Please help.

You have serius problem. Either consistency or mental preparation. hmm.gif

Anyone know where to get 4E good & affordable running shoes? I was trying to look for asics one. But apparently one u, pavilion, pyramid, velocity, shah alam dont have stock.

If to wear 2E shoes is it okay?
*
for wide foot, you can try HOKA or Altra, bigger toebox.

It's hard to find Asics with wide version here, but i have seen in Japan, US .

You can look for Brooks, New Balance, Mizuno, common to see 2E, but 4E is less seen nowadays due to popularity gua.

You need to add 1/2 or 1 size bigger for 2E shoes. Try it yourself if it is too loose or too tight.

TITI 50k starts at midnight if not mistaken, so it's cooling.
Route 68 starts at daytime, can be hot ...

I have a dead serious question here. I do run 8km each session for 3 times a week, on and off for 2 years now, my pace has always been 7-8km/h. My question is how can I achieve 20km? My best distance is 13km.

Besides weekday running session, do one LSD, Long Slow Distance run at weekend, don't worry about the speed. This may improve your distance gradually.

Any recommendations that's similar to Virrata 2?

Disappointed with the demise of Virrata 2...

Perhaps you can try Merrell Bare Access?

have you try the Merrell Bare Access?

Nope, everyone foot is difference and foot pronation, better test it yourself. Since you are looking for zero-drop , this could be close.

So for this... it can be really super slow but as long as go super distance? Hmm.. I never think of this before... I also trying now to increase from 5km to 8km now ...
*
Hmm.. not too much too soon to prevent unnecessary injury, 10% increment (conservative) as many have said. You know your body better.

You can start off with weekend LSD 10km since you have run 8km , try weekly LSD run for a month, then following month increase LSD to 12-15km; subsequent month - 15-18km , and so forth. If can't progress to the distance, maintain the same LSD distance for a month. No hurry, knowing your body well and you will be there at 21km sooner or later.

Usually 1 fully charge battery can last how long??
*
Many variables: -

a) Depends on the capacity (mAh) of batteries

b) Depends on type of LED headlamp

c) Depends on mode (two LED, three LED)

P = V * I

where power = P (two or three LED power) , voltage = V (three AAA batteries is 1.5V x 3 = 4.5) , I = current

Calculate the current (I) from the above., say 200mA

Use the battery capacity mAh (say 2000mAh) divided by the mA (200mA), you will get the hour (h) , which is 10 hour.

Some instruction manual did provide estimated battery usage, pls check each manufacturer specification.

Edit: To add on, some LED headlight do have intensity adjustable by holding button for example, lower the LED intensity aka illumination level (lumens) can prolong the battery life.

so for ultra that starts at midnight should have no problem with one full charge battery.

thanks.  thumbup.gif

Usually I prepare two sets of Energizer alkaline batteries (3 nos. AAA each) for my ReVOLT headlight in running event. Each set can last 8 hours (again depends on the LED mode, I used the highest )

For training, usually I used the provided 2000mAh rechargable batteries which can last 6 hours.

But this one a real suspect event. Why?

1. Registration via Google Docs. Pay manually via transfer I believe.

2. Race kit will be posted. Only option. Postage include I presume.

3. Organisers have no track record with running events. No address, nothing. Just a phone no.

4. I read on their page earlier that they claim this isn't a Doraemon run, hence the Ding and Dong name. But themed after Doraemon characters. WTF.

5. Gmail address. So much for a so called 'Global Event Organiser'. Can't even afford an official, non free email address.

6. No route details, water points etc given at all.

And so I'd say, stay clear of them.
