QUOTE(teongpeng @ Apr 12 2018, 02:16 PM) I see. Yeah usually i won't do any exercise at least 3-4 hours after meal as well. For regular training/daily runs i don't usually consume anything prior to it. Maybe a bit of water if throat feels dry. The livita is like a "secret weapon" for running/obstacle events or demanding activities like a long hike. Usually before events i will eat those gardenia/massimo roti krim or muesli bar or banana, empty a can of livita and wash it with plain water a bit. |

QUOTE(teongpeng @ Apr 12 2018, 02:18 PM) I use cirit salt for after run to replenish electrolyte. During run if I carry bottle also I will fill with cirit salt. Very effective. I buy by the boxes. Wah quite popular aa this trick. Might give it a try.But other than cheaper price and need to prepare manually, does it functions similar to isotonic drinks? Because what I understand about isotonic drinks are they're basically water+sugar+salt and can also replenish electrolytes. Basically what i'm asking is, does ORS, isotonic drinks (100 plus) and running salts serve the same purpose of replenishing electrolytes and interchangeable? Or is it just a matter of amount/concentration? Maybe isotonic drink alone doesn't contain enough salt? |

QUOTE(teongpeng @ Apr 12 2018, 03:36 PM) Not sure about the contents bro. Just that the cirit salt works well for me. I learned about this long long time ago when I first went on a hike. I got so out of breath I almost pitam. My friend let me took a sip from his bottle containing the salt and I straight away became ok. From then on I was sold on cirit salt and have been using them in almost(as in 90%) of my training runs. hmm if i'm not mistaken ORS usually contains sugar (glucose) as well. i think those running salt in form of tablets/capsules are the ones without sugar. However I think the advantage of sports drink over just plain salt is, sports drinks have sugar and carbs and such. Cirit salt doesn't do anything other than replenishing electrolytes i guess those 3 electrolyte supplement can be simplified like this? isotonic drink a.k.a 100 plus - water, sugar, salt in one package - cost more compare to ORS - convenient, just drink - fixed/not flexible ingredient ratio - mostly carbonated, might upset tummy? ORS a.k.a cirit salt - sugar, salt - can control sugar+salt to water ratio - cheaper compare to isotonic drink - less convenient, need to bancuh - non-carbonated running salt a.k.a electrolyte tablet/capsule - just salt - salt intake no need to tie with fixed amount of sugar/water - very convenient just pop em in |

QUOTE(90Boyz @ Apr 12 2018, 05:29 PM) My thoughts but 90-san 100 plus have sodium and potassium oso right not just sugar. or are u trying to say the sugar is too much and the salt is too little?Isotonic drink a.k.a 100 plus - Sugar water - cost more compare to ORS - convenient, just drink - fixed/not flexible ingredient ratio - mostly carbonated, might upset tummy? ORS a.k.a cirit salt - Sugar and Salt - can control sugar+salt to water ratio - cheaper compare to isotonic drink - less convenient, need to bancuh - non-carbonated running salt a.k.a electrolyte tablet/capsule - Sodium, Potassium , Magnesium (key component to prevent cramp) - Every hours intake - very convenient just pop em in |

QUOTE(SlomoX @ Apr 13 2018, 04:45 PM) should be more or less the same except for the spear throw / atlas carry / inverted wall / long barbed wire crawl / bucket carry / sand bag carry / wall traverse 9.30. Ah it's ok since im bringing a few comrades as well. they don't have waterstations? what time is your flag off? maybe you can join my team @ 1030 heat. I wouldnt be joining this time around tho since it would hot this time around (especially semenyih area) prepare for dehydration. depending on the layout this year, the strategy is to conserve energy (unless you go for PB) walk rather than run. and dont forget to enjoy yourself Y u not joining this time? |

QUOTE(SlomoX @ Apr 17 2018, 10:53 AM) hahahahaha they intentionally did that yeah to be exact, the morning before. 3.30am start viper, 9.30am start spartan.say 5km but actually its more to 10km or more say 10km but actually its 15km or more say 21km but close to 25km or more last year for beast they stick to it +- 2-3km depending on the area i believed if 5km they cant put all obstacles evenly spaced thats why the distance viper tunnel is the night before right? crazy la i seriously underestimated spartan's "5km". |

on the topic of trail shoes, is there any issue using trail shoes on road races? will it worn the gigi faster? or maybe effect the landing a bit more?

QUOTE(samuraikacang @ Apr 23 2018, 11:11 AM) A bit painful using trail shoes running on concrete or tarred road because of the spikes hitting the hard surface. I experienced this in mixed route event. So had to run on the grass when it comes to road route. I'm using mizuno trail shoes. i see. thanks for the input. hmm i guess need to compromise and get shoes with less prominent spikes for mixed route eh. |

i went to running lab the other day and tested on cloud shoes.
![]() they're damn comfortable and light but it looks a bit fragile. anyone have experience with these shoes? how's the durability? just by looking i kinda imagine the holes gonna get squished after few months of use. hoping they're sturdier than they look. QUOTE(Darrenkls @ May 2 2018, 12:11 PM) If you register under same team with your friend, let say you choose to start at 3PM while your friend choose 4PM, they will put you both into the same start time. really aa? which one and how they will pick? 3PM or 4PM?If both of you register as individual then no guarantee. usually my team if start time different will still be different. bangle oso different. but we usually squish everyone in the same start time anyway. QUOTE(Darrenkls @ May 2 2018, 12:57 PM) I am wearing On CloudFlow. Basically its very comfortable and super lightweight, cushioning is good as well. Just wear it for 4 months and attended 2 running events, so far still good condition and the holes doesn't get squished. I'm satisfy with it QUOTE(Matthewksexy @ May 2 2018, 01:01 PM) i been using this since last year. surprisingly the shoe was great and it last, not fragile at all. current usage for me i think more than 600km already with the shoe. the only down fall is when the stone or stuff get stuck in between the base of shoe. will i get another pair, i will definitely but with discount. ooh awesome. thanks for the feedback guys. yeah i'm also using the recycle shoe discount RM100 voucher. u buy from running lab oso? what discount u use? |
