Dear Admins, Mods & TEs,

I would like to seek some clarification on the sale of prohibited items in garage sales for Unauthorised Copies or any items deemed illegal by the laws of Malaysia as stated under the R&R here, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...3&#entry7688813

I noticed a couple of threads created are directly violating the R&R here but no action is taken whereas some similar threads were either closed or deleted and given a stern warning. The examples of the threads that I'm talking about are as below.

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/401729

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&hl=Playstation

(To the sellers of the abovementioned threads, I'm just using your threads as an example here, nothing else, no offence, okay? notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif )

When I come across such threads in LYN, I feel that there are some grey areas that maybe the Admins, Mods or TEs can shed some light for us because when you mentioned any items deemed illegal by the laws of Malaysia, does it include people selling consoles with free ahem games given? Non-ori batteries? Non-ori accessories? Compatible handphone casings? It's pretty vague because some forumers are allowed to sell such items here because as far as I know, KPDN recently raided all handphone shops in KL for selling compatible batteries and accessories so are these stuff allowed to be sold here?

FYI, I'm not planning to sell such stuff here and secondly I just wanna seek a proper clarification that's all. Hope, the Admins, Mods & TEs can answer my question posted here. Thanks! notworthy.gif

We mods have a real life too. we have girlfriend to take care of and works to attend to

thus, it is impossible to completely scour the forum and take action on ALL offensive thread

tat's why someone created the REPORT button

as lucifah said, use the report button
personally, if you encountered any thread which is suspicious or violating the rules and regulation, just hit the report button and submit the proper explaination with it. Done it and see it gone.

it could be that the threads that were closed/deleted were reported, and those that are still open went unreported by forumers.

the admin/mod/staff/TE cant go through every single thread there.. sweat.gif

It seems that those threads have been overlooked by our moderators. In the future, you can (and should) bring such threads to our attention by using the Report! button. Due to the sheer number of regular members vs the moderating team, you're bound to catch things that we don't smile.gif

I'll let the rest clarify on the illegal items.

Ehh ......... where did Lucifah's reply go to? Went invincible? I know the mods are busy, I'm just curious whether such items can be sold here that's all, otherwise people will be asking why you delete my thread and why that thread is still active, it will look bad on the mods' credibility. Get what I mean? I'm just seeking their opinion and views on this that's all. notworthy.gif

The threads you pointed out have been dealt with. Feel free to give the Report button a spin the next time you feel someone is infringing forum rules. TQ and have a nice day.

If its illegal offline, its illegal online. So if it gets raided by xxx and seized, then its not allowed in LYN. Like what the others have adviced - report the thread. We have too few TEs and Moderators to police every single thread. We rely on cooperation from our members, and some snitching.
