if u are young, go for Getz 1.4 - new car have less problem and stand for longer time, Getz 1.4 quite sportive also.

over 30 then can consider the city as city tend to bring profession image to you but just remember to shop for best deal

performance side, erm... i can judge much as i not experience on this two car. i scare mis-lead u. i think other ppl can do better that me...

But "shop for best deal", u should know different 2nd car shop can giv ur diff result. U should well research when buying 2nd car as diff dealer can offer diff price while diff car condition also. well plan and well research, dude

the new Getz 1.4 w/ bodykit is very nice...and Honda car is a realible car too...
if im u i will go for new car definitely....but i like honda cars...
my advise is if u pay more or have more cash then go for the City...if u loan longer time thn go for Getz...

both car also great in terms of peformance...i drive both car before...believe me... the Getz 1.4 manual is powerful..   the City idsi is not as powerful as the V-TEC version...but since i drive the manual Getz 1.4 so i can't compare both car as the City comes in auto transmission...

but then let me remind u tat City is fuel efficient..but then its a 2nd car n the condition depends on how the owner take care of that car..

Since it is 2005 facelift wuite new... Can be consired as a new car too...

From every aspect the city is better than getz... no need to compare...
Vtec engine somemore no need to talk... Younger look for aged 23 plus sporty... better image too... haha...

In terms of second hand value... Hyundai car is very low...
Honda will have more second hand value...
Parts are easier to find...
60K++ for new facelift quite reasonable...

The second hand price is fix in market...So dun worry about that...

Just worry about to find a good condition second hand honda city...

there is a downside to second hand cars tho,

1) the owner might not take care of it properly, irregular service interval
2) there is a problem with the car and the owner want to sell it (sort of lemon car)
3) warranty (if still valid) might be harder to claim

so if possible, go get a new car for more peace of mind, because with a new car, you know what would be wrong with it and there is always warranty claim should anything goes wrong.

I would say theres a few factors to consider when having a 2nd hand car.

1. Bring your trusted mechanic there to check for the car, or any accidents, Etc. (but since this is a 2005 car, should be alright)
2. Does he smoke? and do you mind? (I will not buy a smokers car)
3. Paintjob? is it well taken care of?
4. Interior of the car? Is it clean? or are the stains possible to be removed?
5. Mileage? With digital ODO meters..its kinda hard to cheat i guess.

hmm the spareparts availability for korean cars is definitely not a problem, just that you might not get an option to choose either original parts or cheaper replacements. And ofcourse the original parts is quite costy
