Actually to be honest, AI and human players are very different. The gameplay is different in the sense that AI will always push all the way to the throne. Human players on the other hand, after push first tower will start to hunt for heroes..... delay delay game then when farm a lot d, then only push 2nd tower then proceed into enemy base

yes, you can, let us know if you able to beat all 5 insane AI in your shortest time, er with you yourself no AI for your side...

four easy ai to be feed will be fair enough because u will know what to buy when u have 700 plus starting money.

Only use it to practice remembering recipes and last hit/denying in the simplest form. After that, stop. Move to human players, although the transition will not be easy with people scolding you n00b and all.

i mean ON YOUR SIDE to be feed by FIVE OPPONENT which is insane.

u can improve, but there is limit on how much you can improve. and you will never learn the most important thing in dota, which is teamwork.

and some luck is also important.

Try to win the game without killing any ai's then confirmt you are pro.

nice topic lol. i am a total noob in dota...when i play in cafe or flying spaghetti monster many people ask me to train with AI first before playing with people... But some of them and my roommates pula ask me to play more with human, like in cafe or flying spaghetti monster, cos they say playing with human can learn a lot of valuable experience and grow which one can never learn in AI games.they also dun suggest me playing too much AI cos they say once a newbie like me get used to the AI style it is hard to change and play with human

so now i am totally confused: who's words should i follow? lol

for first hand noobs, to avoid being cursed from father mother to ancestor, plz AI first to learn the basics in dotaing, skills, recipe and built, as u understand more plz play with real humans.

Play with INSANE AI just to practice weapon spell combination, last attk kill creeps, killing heroes using appriate strategy, weapons and combos. If can kill those AI heroes, most likely u can kill other real Dota players.

what i can say is, play with AI to know what items will suit the hero of your choice
humans and AI are different, that is an undeniable fact
so in short, you can only go so far with just playing with AI, ie to learn about the game

last time when war3 was still a game, i train myself by playing with 2 AI, 1 insane and 1 normal. i managed to beat them and i learned money, unit and a little micro management. so when it comes to playing 1 on 1 with humans, i may still get pwned

yea..theres limit on what u can learn with AI
can practice item purchase combo, learn to use the hero, creep/deny practice
these skills are enough for you to excel in public games
further learning on teamworks, harass , counter hero etcs really need to have real dota experience
of course playing dota with humans lets u learn twice faster (after u passed beginner stage)

honestly.....i never play ai before

i can beat the AI 1v5 insane, but it normally takes on average 40 mins... But i've noticed that since they changed denying so that you don't lose that much exp when you're denied, it's rather pointless to deny... much better to just send them home... Or let them waste money buying lots and lots of tangos...

I think AI is useful up to a point. That point being learning how to play with real people.
In AI you can learn all the basics, what items to get, wtf is this curse of the silent and why am I losing health and mana? etc
I think if you're completely new, with no friends to help teach you, play AI until you know most of the heroes and items. Last hitting and denying is a bonus.

you won't be PRO by playing with AI, that's a whole different story......

AI is just for fun and for guys like me who don't wanna waste so much money in the CC, i only play in CC when holidays

if you are PRO in AI, u WON'T be PRO when playing with humans, u'll get your ass kicked man.....'cause playing with humans requires TEAM WORK (if not 1 on 1), and most of the time they'll be playing all random....

Try 3v5 , put 2 easy computer , and see how u can win

I play ai dota for a few days when the internet was down and my skill suck after i play online.. and top all that .. it was 1v5 and 5v5 with AI.
My strat was base on AI level of thinking.

AI is bad for you.. u may think like AI. Mindless and Dumb.

Now its all player, no AI.

With play 6.38b ai plus, total different...
u can learn more things ... but it is hard to win~

AI if play 5 insane, they all buy blade mail, and u use meele, damn , so hard to win. Bcome boring liao. hehe mayb I too noob

Ai are getting "smarter" with newer versions coming out. The last time, it was possible to take on 5 expert bots without breaking a sweat. Now the Ai is harder to take down depending on the level. If it was an expert bot for example in version 6.27 bot, they level twice as fast.

So in the end, you can improve on reaction times when it comes to denying and farming but other than that, no chance of improving anything else.

Once i played with AI 1 v 5 they level 1 first creep push tower already down.. Thats not teamwork? Somehow you know nowdays AI version been improved . when some tower being attack they will put signal 1. You could try 1 v 5 type greedisgood also and buy your best item, you'll see AI item are super geng 1 lol. You will learn what item to buy when you are rich from AI.

to me ... AI maps are meant to be played when server down.. or there is no internet connection.. or u're learning new heroes and also training ur last hit creep / deny... other than those mentioned above.. ai game and human game .. u'll really feel the difference ...

LoLz... Actually if u want to play AI... I suggest u just play Single Player ^^... can practice ur whatever timing skills... if u want to test item can on cheat and buy lolz.... why u wan to play against AI? Unless your like demonas then of course must play with AI la... go figure \ /

playing with AI.. just can practise your timing on the last hit only..
