Guys, need a bit of help... Seems like my pc is a never ending disaster after gotten my new Palit 1070. Now pc would randomly reboot itself within 5 minutes of gameplay.... Both Cpu and gpu Temps are within normal range during idle or load.

FYI, my spec is i5-4670k, 8gb ddr 3, asrock z87 extreme 6, samsung Evo 850 240gb ssd, Palit gamerock 1070, seasonic 550w 80 plus gold.

Ps: all drivers are up to date except I haven't upgrade windows anniversary update. All reboot and without bsod. Event viewer lodge as kernel power error 41.

Event 41 indicates your system is rebooting without a clean shut down. Without further details, this usually indicates a problem with the hardware. To help isolate the problem, check the following items:

1.Overclocking: Disable overclocking to see whether the issue occurs when the system is run at the correct speed.

2.Check the memory: Verify the memory by using a memory checker. Verify that each memory chip is the same speed and that it is configured correctly in the system.

3.Power supply: Make sure that the power supply has enough wattage to appropriately handle the installed devices. If you added memory, installed a newer processor, installed additional drives, or added external devices, such devices can require more energy than the current power supply can provide consistently.

4.Overheating: Check whether the system is overheating by examining the internal temperature of the hardware.

5.Defaults: Reset the system back to the system defaults to see whether the issues occur when the system is running in its default configuration.

trust me get a min 650W. FYI, 550W is not enough but i recommend get at least 750W for more head-room.

agree. 550w seems low based on your specs. plus if u overclock / have alot of components in your rig (like multiple casing fans, cooler, leds, etc)

go for 750w, since the price 750w vs 650w is very minimal

So insufficient psu power more likely or defective gpu?

BTW, I do have additional 2 240mm fans and 2 more Hdd in my build.

Hopefully, insufficient power is the culprit behind your issue. I am assuming your rig was running fine before you introduced the 1070 to it.

Yes, it was running without any hiccup before that. I was using ATI HD 7850 which has lower power consumption than 1070.

Dont be silly, 550W is alot for his specs

Even simple estimation by TDP
i5 - ~95W TDP
GTX1070 - 150/160W
HDD - ~10W
Total : ~300W

It wont even stress the Seasonic Gold PSU at all even at max load (PSUs perform best at 50-90% range of their total supported wattage)

Yeah, I was thinking it should be sufficient too.

Okay, I just swapped out my psu to my old cooler Master psu. No more restart after few looping in 3d mark... Still need to monitor though...

being running with my old Cooler Master PSU about an hour and the restart problem went away. However, I switched back to my Seasonic unit and gaming would reboot the PC almost immediately.

Sigh... hate to do RMA.

Seasonic G series? Check the cables maybe?

Yeah, that one. I'll probably give it one more try before I send for RMA.

Anyone has experience claiming the GoW 4 code from Zotac? Got my 1080 on 17/10 and submit the request on the same day. Until today I have still yet to receive the code.
