Hey all, I am new here to find out if any of you have experience or views on starting a children education business. I am from the corporate world and getting sick of it.... puke.gif Would like to venture into something related to children education. It may be worthwhile as I love children, and this would also help me as a new parent to better understand my child. Any children business or franchise to recommend? Thanks!

"Children education business" is still quite vague. Try to put more research into it & decide more precisely which one you're planning to go into;

1) tuition center, from standard 1 to form 5?
2) early child education
3) pre-school or kindergarten (below 7 years old)
4) supplementary education or learning development like Cosmotots (Cosmotots is crap btw)

And dunno what other types of children education out there, seen some digital learnings etc.

Lastly, avoid franchise at all cost. It's an obsolete business model.

Sounds like it's better to come up with our own business structure than franchise? I thought franchise offers a more established model and security....all we need to do it just follow?

Out of curiosity, I Googled up Kumon, S.A.M. and Eye Level franchise last week. Any of you heard of them? They are some sort of enrichment program for kids. They have sessions for people who wish to find out more. I wonder if their set-up cost is high blink.gif . Anyone has any idea?

Ultimately it's your investment.

Whether to take up a franchise or not it's up to you. If you got no knowledge whatsoever, then maybe paying for franchise might help to shed some lights. If you have the knowledge already, it makes no sense taking up a franchise unless it's super popular. But I normally discourage people to venture into something with absolutely 0 knowledge. Especially those who goes "I have 5 million bucks, what biz good to open?". The market can be really cruel sometimes.

Yes those supplementary or brain/learning development centers have been around for ages.

Hello from Q-dees! Dropping a quick comment here in hopes that it helps.

Yes, to take up a franchise, there would be some set-up fees involved, including looking for a location to start. And yes, though we provide training for our franchisees, it's always best to have some knowledge and passion in early childhood education.

Will be glad to help over at https://www.q-dees.com/franchise/

As mentioned, depends on what type of children education business. I am currently in this industry and the centre I am working in is quite successful.

If you can further elaborate on some of the questions posted by the other commentors, it would be better to understand your position.

as a parent of a preschool child, quality and dedicated teachers are important. pay them more if you see them perform better than teachers from other centres. high turnover rate will hurt your business.
