Hi everyone,

I'm going to take Diploma in Multimedia Design at Saito College, planning to get a laptop for school assignments and gaming.

I'm currently looking at these 3 laptops at the moment:

MSI GE62 6QC Apache
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE62-6QC-Apache....l#hero-overview

MSI GE72 6QC Apache
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE72-6QC-Apache....l#hero-overview

Asus ROG GL552V-WDM527T
https://www.asus.com/my/Notebooks/ROG-GL552VW/

Can't decide which to get. Probably you could leave your own suggestion?

Max budget : RM4500

GE72 > GE62/GL552 for the display size at 1080p

GL552 > GE62/GE72 for the design external look

If I were you I select GL552 since i like the design.

But when it comes for editing, I prefer big screen and wide IPS screen. But you can attached it to the external monitor like XV239h.

But if you travelling, GE72 is better. But some ppl will make fun of you of big and thick laptop.

Why dont you try see ILLIGEAR? www.illegear.com/

It looks like can easily upgrade.

btw take the high end spec like i76700hq and gtx960m4gb or higher. GL sir in study.

last time i just use cheapo laptop with superb workstation. Remote the workstation at school.

tbh i like the ge72 too, but im afraid when it comes to portability, cause its kinda big. btw what course did you took last time?

I usually buy from DELL due to after sales service very good. If you want 4 core laptop and decent gaming i recommend this http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-15-7559-...timonster=PD_OC

what kind of game did you plan to play?
*
Mainly gta v , battlefield 1, h1z1 , dota 2, cs go , unturned (haha)

I heard they say 950m above can support gta v. So I'm aiming at the 960m.

I will also recommend you to wait. But since the 1060 moblie will only come next year (a little birdie tell me this. My source is good)

If you can't wait.Get the ge62. I assumed it is the ips version,yes? The msi has;

●amazing keyboard. It's a joy to type for long hours.
●great ips matted screen
●nice cooling system. Honestly it's not that noisy at all and i doubt you will be gaming in class or in the library.
●get a cooler or the heat might spoil the battery. It's not removeable so you are pretty screwed if you do.
●the baterry level will also goes down even when pluged-in. To avoid this, only use the comfort mode as the sport mode drains the battery.

I don't think the ge72 have an ips screen. It's usually tn. Besides, the same-priced ge62 should have better spec than the ge72.

Ge62 is a tad more expensive, but noy by much and totally worth the price. MSI is now the biggest gaming notebook supplier right now,you know? You'll be with a good community.

Ya man i got a feeling i would regret when the 1060 comes out. I guess I'll wait at the moment... If really cannot wait then maybe I'll get the ge62 xD
