Yes, if your cc support it. Like my Citibank Signature does not support it, I used AmBank VI in S'pore PPL. biggrin.gif

Many terms changes, to clarify:

1. Ambank WMC/VI to spend RM1000 30 days before/after for 2 access?

2. Ambank any access to Langkawi PPL? Saw PBB got.

3. If I have both WMC a& VI under my name, can I bring spouse?
*
1. If u are Am Signature WMC/VI card holder, then no need the spend requirement.

I just received my Am Signature WMC, heard that for exchange rate they are better. Got Am Signature VI few months earlier. biggrin.gif

For HK, JFK (New York), LA airports, which are the cards that allow free access to the lounge there ? I have AmBank VI, WMC, CIMB VI, but I doubt they cover any of these airports.

Appreciate any inputs, so maybe can rush to get other cards ! tongue.gif

Ambank doesn't cover US

Best bet is card that come with priority pass, citibank prestige?

Thanks ! Have only Citibank Rewards Signature which is lower than the Citibank Prestige. Free card for Citigold. Haha, so looks like have to find other cards.

Unless for Citigold can request for free upgrade to Prestige ? Unless annual fee waiver like the Rewards Signature. biggrin.gif

Prestige never waive annual fee, even for first year. But what do i know? Even Premier Miles they do waive now but Prestige is another level.

Ya looks like higher than their Citigold which were given Rewards Signature only.

I only go for FOC cards, cheap skate. biggrin.gif

Have checked again, found AmBank VI card can access HK and Vancouver International Airports. rclxms.gif So during my long stop in HK can use the lounge for 3 hrs. biggrin.gif

So plan to use CIMB VI for Penang lounge and AmBank VI for HK lounge. thumbup.gif

airports generally are divided into 2 broad areas...land side which means areas open to everybody...check in, arrival wait etc....

airside refers to the secured areas where ONLY travellers can access....so generally means after security/immigrations....if you do NOT have a boarding pass, you cannot enter....and also, all staffs working in the airside needs passes and security checks....

technically, airside in international terminals also means OUTSIDE the country, as you have cleared immigration....

ppl has several lounges in klia2....at the landside, they have ppl gateway, and also manage tgm....and the newly opened aerotel and aerotel ppl....

at the ariside, they have ppl at l gates, wellness spa, and also manage the bar....

obviously for airside lounges, ONLY travellers can use....but the landside facilities, they do NOT insist you must be travelling to use...so many people just go use/eat....

if a card has restrictions, like 5 times annually, then it's ok, people will likely reserve use to when they actually travel....

ambank has no restrictions on how many times you use...

the main problem with both klia and klia2 is that, there is NO lounge available at the domestic airside...no space available...

Thanks for the detail explanation. This made sense esp like AmBank Signature VI where there is no restriction. Then people can go in the land side PPL lots of time. smile.gif

AmBank cards no longer allow KLIA2 landslide cards regardless it's with Signature or just normal commercial cards.

QUOTE(drbone @ Mar 22 2018, 11:44 AM)
Nope the ambank signature card does not allow free entry for land side any longer. Sad but true.
*
Actually my point is saying AmBank Signature has no restriction for PPL entry. So NOW they restrict the landside one so as to control the use, irrespective of the Signature card or not. Meaning even AmBank Signature NOW cannot enter the landside FOC.

Just to clarify.

Just heard that AmBank changed PPL access for its credit cards, from GenX GenY GenZ Facebook post:

" You are only allowed 5X Free Access regardless if you spend RM500 or RM10,000 every month with your AmBank World MasterCard or Visa Infinite (non Priority Signature version).

Worst, all AmBank Platinum credit cards are no longer allowed any FREE access to any airport lounge.

In addition to the above bad news, and to pissed off BIG time those who are in East Malaysia and Penang, your AmBank credit cards are will be useless at Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu Plaza Premium Lounges too regardless if you have Priority Banking status or not!!! ""

https://www.facebook.com/GenXGenYGenZ/posts/1907120162661185

They even close Penang PPL access for all AmBank cards. Luckily have CIMB VI card, hopefully CIMB not closing the access for Penang PPL. tongue.gif

The effect of the ambank decision is basically they close access to lounges on domestic travels....so you only have access on international flights....

The removal of kk and pen is puzzling....there are international lounges there too... should at least maintain that....

Looks like AmBank since late last year is tightening the PPL requirement ?? Even their Platinum card is now cannot access any PPL.

Citibank Visa Signature (for their Citigold) cannot access Penang PPL. But it seems to be able to access only KLIA PPL. Nothing else ! doh.gif doh.gif

Definitely no problem to use one card each within a day (for yourself).
Ie. Day trip, morning use VI, evening return use WMC.
You need to spend RM500 with VI and another RM500 with WMC.

Scenario 2, you bring a friend with you.
You can use VI for yourself, and WMC for your friend.
But because both are from Ambank, with same enter time, sometimes PPL don't allow this (but I tried twice so far ok).

Only Ambank Priority banking (VI/WMC) no need spending and with unlimited access.
Ambank VS is required to spend RM500, please check the T&C again.
https://www.ambank.com.my/ambank/Documents/...umLoungeTnC.pdf

Nowadays, not many card has Priority Pass and Loungekey anymore.
Airport lounges are overcrowded.
*
For AmBank Priority Banking, Signature, VI and WMC, I think still limited to once per day lounge access. Below clause 4:

4. Cardholders are entitled to access the lounge only, once per day

Except no need to have RM500 spending requirement and 5X access per year.

When I first using Ambank VI, I can actually have unlimited entry per day.
Initially the clause was 3x overseas swipes, then changed into spending RM500 / entry.
Got once, I enter 3 times a day, while transiting in Sg.
From Penang PPL, then Changi TGM, and followed by Changi PPL.

Somewhere last year, Ambank amended the clause and limit to 1 use per day.
End up I applied for RHB WMC for local use.

For priority banking, I believe it is also once per day, better confirm from their T&C.
Since they removed Penang, Kuching, KK, and limited to 5x entry per year, there is not much usage for this card anymore.
Redemption points for air miles also increase from 5000 to 7000 (40% increase).
It was one of the top 3 CC for this segment.
Now, the only use for me is for my parents to enter PPL while travel overseas (using my sub card).
*
QUOTE(limeuu @ Aug 18 2018, 04:49 PM)
Yes, the ambank priority banking cards are now only for overseas travels, especially for supplementary cards....and with the devaluation of points, I stop using it....better with Maybank premier cards....

One point is still not clear....it's one entry per cardholder, or per card....if you have both the vi and wmc, can make 2 entries?
*
The way I interpret AmBank T & C is only one time entry per day, irrespective of having both VI and WMC. Though I have both cards under their Signature (no need RM500 expenditure).

Now they removed Penang PPL entry. But to avoid issue with their terms, I have used CIMB VI for Penang PPL and then AmBank's one for Changi or Hong Kong on the same day. biggrin.gif

Sorry I misinterpreted your "Signature" previously, i thought it was Visa Signature, not aware that Ambank Signature = Priority banking.
Based on the T&C, I can say that it is a grey area whether can use both VI and WMC on the same day.
Perhaps you should email Ambank for clarification.
It is a proof if they still charging you.
*
I kind of read their T & C and see that it is not 100% clear on the one time per day. Have asked on this forum before (months ago) but no concrete reply.

Have no issue for now as can use CIMB and AmBank cards as mentioned earlier. May ask AmBank this question later.

to me is 1 entry per day, refers to one card.
so 2 cards can enter twice a day.

I have used both Am Sig WMC and AmPriority VI  on same day, no charge so far

U are right ! rclxms.gif

Just received reply from AmBank. 1 entry per day is for per card. So if u have VI and WMC card (or VI or VS cards), then can enter twice a day in diff locations. Below is the reply from AmBank.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email.

Please be informed that you are only allowed 1 access per day (across all Plaza Premium Lounge (PPL) locally and globally). Meaning every 24 hours, you can only access any PPL only once. However, if you have a Visa Signature and Visa Infinite (as an example) you can use your Visa Signature in the morning to access PPL KLIA 1 and Visa Infinite in the afternoon to access PPL in HK airport as the 1 access per day is for each individual card. But note that both cards will have to meet the RM500 spend condition individually.

Should you have any other enquiries, please feel free to email us at amcard-csd@ambankgroup.com or contact our 24-Hour Customer Service Hotline at 03-2178 8888 for further assistance.

Thank you.
