Which one should I get?

Yamaha DW7
- Solid Engelmann Spruce top

Yamaha FG 730S
-Solid Sitka spruce top

Both back and sides of the two guitars are same, which is laminated rosewood. Both are also same priced (RM1390).
Anyone who owns or tried any of the two models before are welcomed to give comments.

for that price add another rm200+ and buy taylor big baby...excellent guitar...better that yamaha low end L series that cost rm2k...

I think a big baby is a bad choice. It is fully made of ply wood.
ALso, I tested it before at Mahogany. The sound is so so only but considering it as a ply wood guitar, it's one of the best ply wood guitars I have ever played.

I'm looking forward to a solid top. Anyone here can help?

fg730 is nothing special...not sure abt DW7...somehow yamaha guitar is lack of volume...unless u get those really high ends ones...

brand new taylor big baby is only rm1630 only....rm200+ more only ma..

the difference between 1150 and 1630 is 480 my friend. and if im not wrong, it lists for rm1750 not rm1630 (unless after discount)

if sinamex list price is RM1630, then i can definitely get it for cheaper than whatever those yamaha's are selling for.

the newer ones have B band pickups.

so these must be clearance stock.

Get the Norman's B18, guitar store in damansara perdana is selling them...i just got one from the guitar store...They have 2 choices of solid top, cedar and spruce...Rm 1190 i think...but u might get some discount if you haggle a bit....Its handmade in canada...Totally kick those yamaha away...
It might be a good idea try these out 1st before buying a taylor big baby...

Actually why not check out Bentley 's Garisson model of AG 200. The Star review it as one of the better models . It;s not a solid top but it's not plywood either ..the top have a cabon fiber bracing so therefore it's vibrates better.

Retails for around RM 780,. I owned one and everyone who listens to it swears that it sounded like a solid top and have a very balanced tone.

Have you tried the Farida acoustics? Sold by Guitar Store. Decent build quality, good tones and playability. Been getting some good reviews by the mags - check out latest issue of Guitarist.

How about the seagulls, i'm also looking for a guitar around the same price range. After reading reviews I thought that the yamahas for a safe bet, because their build quality was there? Everyone seems to say getting a good yamaha is better than getting a low-end taylor, until I came to this thread.

How do the seagulls sound? I heard they were superb,

I got a friend selling a brand new vietnam handmade full-solid wood guitar...i personally tried the guitar...very warm tone and alot of volume...selling for rm1k...extremely cheap for a full solid wood guitar...

Checked them out already, not my taste too. If you didn't notice, the workmanship ain't that good. I saw some clumsy glue spillings inside the guitar through the sound hole. The joints were not that accurate too.
