Usually when we top up ASX, is it the teller does it on the spot? I encountered most of the time where I request to top up, my ic & passbook was withheld with them for more than 10 minutes, while the teller still attend to other customers. Then after 10-20 minutes of wait, only they said 'no units'. Is this the norm? Couldn't they check on the spot & tell whether is it available or not?

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 12 2016, 02:03 PM) Depend on staff. Sometimes the staff will entertain me on the spot. Sometimes like you said take my book without my IC and ask me to wait. But most of the time, either way I will get the units. They always ask for my passbook WITH IC. I tried in 3 different Maybank branches.. QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 12 2016, 02:19 PM) Every time they say no units? If yes, then sorry to say.. They cheat u.. They didn't try at all.. For u question.. It's depend.. Normally I get to do on the spot.. Can see personally.. I stand at the counter... So far I had not been successful in getting units at the counter except my first subscription for ASW. ASM & AS1M was purchased back in 2009. I went to different branches & they always ask me 'duduk & tunggu'. Why they want to cheat me? I just asked for below rm1k..

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 12 2016, 05:21 PM) well there's various reason why they want to "cheat" u.. among them is laziness of trying because in their mind already set "non-bumi quota sold out all the time". once u managed to get, then u always will come again & again.. more work for them later.. at least u managed to reach counter level. some before take Q number already get rejected. Staff would say sold out, system offline, wait for new units for sales etc. I really noticed they are fond in entertaining bumi. I was also refused to be given a number today when I approach the machine & when they find out I want to top up ASX, promote savings plan to me pula.. Then ask if I filled up my form, any passbook etc stupid questions then only gave me the number!!! They just want ppl to pump in money to their product, does seem to be sincere agents

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 12 2016, 06:49 PM) hurtedheart go try other bank then maybank. Our auntie twinkle went from one bank to the other until she settle on affin bank. Good idea. Perhaps I will try with small amount in cash 1st & see how is their service then only decide if opening a bank a/c is necessary QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 13 2016, 07:44 AM) Execution is tough as buyers have sentimental value with their choice bank And convenience too. Like my case, Maybank has many branches & I can easily hoped into it whenever I pass by. Also I can uplift my eGIA for payment of the subscription Rather than keep in CASA which earns lower interest

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 13 2016, 10:06 AM) As far as I know, one cannot withdraw eGIA from the counter. It needs to be done online. Happened to me before. Was going to withwdraw RM5k from eGIA to pay for ASW2020, they told me cannot. You will have to do the following first: eGIA > SA > pay for ASX FP. Yes. I always uplift online while waiting myself to be served so funds are ready in my SA. If fail subscription, then I place the gia again, online not over the counter This post has been edited by hurtedheart: Aug 13 2016, 10:29 AM

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 13 2016, 01:52 PM) In tis respect, how u xpect Bank to treat u well since u dun have loyalty QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 13 2016, 02:04 PM) If u want many branches, u may choose Cimb or Rhb I am loyal to Maybank, that's why I don't have cimb / rhb / affin bank account. But they treat me otherwise. It really hurt my heart..

QUOTE(yvonne2016 @ Sep 10 2016, 10:20 AM) yes - ALL 3 - only with CIMB Click , Success rate - normally I will do online on Monday , never on Friday . with AS1M Chances 99% ASW 2020 - 70% ASM - 60% for MBB - online available - only AS1M Never know CIMB can top up online for non-bumi. Is it happening just recently? Is there any charge for the top up attempts be it successful or unsuccessful? How much it costs?

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 10 2016, 10:55 PM) Very cheap only rm1.06/transaction. Both fail & successful top up.. Ok, same as Maybank then. If top up only rm100 then does not appear cheap, as it is 1% of rm100. But it's very convenient compared to traveling to bank, queue up and lastly top up in vain

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Sep 11 2016, 08:36 AM) The only setback is they can't notify status (i.e. whether successful or not) in real time Ya. I actually encountered funds in MBB deducted (and not refunded) which implies subscription is successful but when I update my passbook at MBB, the transaction didn't appear. Lesson learnt = to monitor & counter check frequently especially if top ups are made in small sums. Now I ended up digging my MBB statement before I could report the case to MBB

QUOTE(filage @ Sep 11 2016, 08:48 AM) Not even refunded after 3 days? Like until you request them to investigate only the fund returned? I haven't request for an investigation since I'm still digging my bank account statement. My subscription was back in feb this year but I only update my passbook in July. It was only then that I realised there was no transaction when the updated passbook remain as it was.
