all of u printed the Dividends already, enjoyed the return.. just printed 3 books, keyed in all entries + dates into Polarbearz excel file and it showed quite diff IRR (since 2007): 6.17, 6.33 and 6.39% , must be int loss from diff buying dates i guess..

Btw, u didn't top up?

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Sep 8 2016, 02:14 PM)
the most enjoyable moment is to see your fund grow from the dividend compounded mechanism.
When applying loan, banks take the seed as net worth and the dividend as yearly non-taxable incomes.
*
see it grow at the end children enjoy.... bank loans not in my book many years already.

*
yeah UT is no joke can lose money, same goes for stocks, i never really make money there.

QUOTE(twinkle5129 @ Sep 15 2016, 06:38 PM)
Majority inside FP & dividend stocks now. Still have some FDs at Affin 4.3% & HLB 4.25%.
Can survive with dividends from stocks without touching FP dividends.
*
this one attracts my interest. can share what stocks you have?
i have some 200k stocks- 'poor' dividends(compared to purchase cost) <4%
You manage to get 8%pa dividend over your cost of purchase?

i usually buy out of urge, have to learn how to do the so called "due diligence"

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Sep 16 2016, 01:41 PM)
Not true. Auntie twinkle did all that in one month. But she visit affin bank everyday. 3x/day like that.
*
to get 1 M in one month is really a feat.

QUOTE(twinkle5129 @ Sep 16 2016, 03:25 PM)

I don't set high target, as long as the return is better than FD.

*
say at 6% dividend, then must have >RM500k in stocks to get RM3000 monthly.
You sure put alot of money in stocks.... sweat.gif sweat.gif

I still treat this FP as UT.  biggrin.gif
*
i dont quite understand you there. no doubt ASX is UT, but unlike your normal UT, this one any time you can withdraw
and you get back your cost, at most lose 1 month interest only.

FDs you take out early, you are likely to lose more. Normal UT take out may not get back even cost.

having said that, i am also same like you (in FD FP portions), but for another reason.

QUOTE(AIYH @ Oct 14 2016, 12:26 AM)

Highest level emergency fund : eGIA as you can uplift everyday (including weekend and PH) from 6am to 10pm
Comment : Very liquid

Medium level emergency fund : FP Asx as they gave high dividend but only can sell during working days and office hour at the moment (unless online platform change the landscape :lol)
Comment : Traditional liquid (OTC withdrawal)

Lowest level emergency fund : RHB islamic bond fund as they provide consistent higher return (historical) than Asx FP dividend, provided you can take a bit risk and can forgo the FD's PIDM capital guarantee concept.
Comment : Need few days to receive the fund, and the amount invested need to be put at least a year to avoid redemption charge
*
The most urgent need for emergency money is usually health related, eg for private hospital deposit fee.
Credit card would be Number 1, in your pocket anytime.

Urgent hard cold cash? i wonder in what scenario will it be needed urgently nowadays...
even kidnapper also will give you time..

Money in UT or even bonds should not be emergency fund at all, not even the lowest level,
as you are likely to lose out selling to get hurried money.

Car break down?

Still can use credit card i think. most workshop accepts card, esp for major repairs.
If need to pay cash on the spot ,repair is usually minor, that should be available in pocket.
