Reading the previous posts I do know now it is difficult to buy so yea kinda lucky first try I guess.

Now my question is besides ASW2020 what other type are typically fixed rates and possible to open an account?
*
ASM & AS1M.
ASB & ASB2 if non muslim

U quietly buying units ? Did not see u mention about buying ?  hmm.gif
Still prefer the security of updating on passbook.  bruce.gif

If one day, have cash in pocket and no passbook, then may try that. Until that day .................. biggrin.gif

He only buys at the end of the month to maximise returns.

As long as keep the yellow paper,no problem. Anything show them the yellow paper.

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Sep 24 2016, 10:22 PM)
For me, it more depends on availability of dough and my time.

Dividend calculated based on last 2 days and 1st of the month ? Other dates deferred to last 2 days and 1st of the month ?
*
Dividend is calculated based on the lowest amount of the month.

Eg 1

Holding RM10k as of 1/9/2016
Topup RM5k on 1/9/2016
No withdrawal
Dividend calculated = RM15k

Eg 2
Holding RM10k as of 1/9/2016
Topup RM5k on 2/9/2016
No withdrawal
Dividend calculated = RM10k

Eg 3
Holding RM10k as of 1/9/2016
Topup RM5k on 1/9/2016
Withdrawal of RM7k on 30/9/2016
Dividend calculated = RM8k

So if you want to benefit, topup on 30/31/1 of the month. rclxms.gif

No wonder u either do it on 1st or end of the month.

For me, I would not look at the dates. The key thing is when the dough is ready, when we can get the units, available time for doing the "grab" etc.

If I can time the grab, then I would put dough in MBB GIA until end or 1st of the month.  biggrin.gif

Eh, FD interest you kira even one day. This one, one month dividend at 6.x% don't want to kira?hmm.gif

Wanna ask if I have somebody who let go off their funds what would be the method for me to take over? I know it's not transferable and I don't wanna miss this opportunity. A friend of mine wants to let go his asw.
*
If I am not mistaken ASNB can do transfer. But have to find a branch. Both parties must be present. Best is find a ASNB branch, ask the staff. *50-50 chance*

So some start selling starting 27/9 ? Oh, my dough not ready yet.  sad.gif
*
You can't cause AS1M will open again for business on only 4/10 even if dividend is given earlier. thumbup.gif
So keep calm and brace yourself for 4/10 bruce.gif

Just for planning purpose. How about ASM and ASW. When do they declare dividends ? hmm.gif
*
Keep in mind that next year if they give cheque instead of units, topping up will be difficult (nobody withdraw) people will cash out the cheque.

Thanks buddy, Sunday? Or your referring to Saturday?
I don't have a preferred banking, basically I will go to banks whichever is nearby my vicinity.
Thanks for the input.
I'll try to get him to release bit by bit rather than one lump.

Based on the previous advice in this thread I think I will also try my luck in opening other fixed price funds like ASM and AS1M.
*
Bit by bit no chance for you to grab. If one shot 6-7 digit, you have very high chance. Again contact ASNB ASAP and asked whether they can do a transfer or not without the risk of losing units.

That was one of the reason I told my parents don't need to do the pengisytiharan amanah stuff. I will need to go to ASNB Shah Alam and asked them.

For all fixed price funds, the distributions are calculated monthly with monthly minimum balance and credited on yearly distribution date?

Yes. The lowest amount of the month. See eg below.

QUOTE(AIYH @ Sep 26 2016, 11:43 AM)
So in this case if I deposited for 5 months and withdraw everything due to emergency before the distribution date, we are not entitled to any distribution?
*
Just keep min RM100 inside to be safe.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Sep 26 2016, 11:43 AM)
U will get pro-rated amt
*
Really even if you withdraw all? I thought if withdraw all = don't get the pro-rated amount?

QUOTE(AIYH @ Sep 26 2016, 11:50 AM)
So if we still have minimum amount in the fund, we need to wait until distribution date to get the distribution?

And if we withdraw everything before the distribution date, we will get pro rated according to which distribution rate (last FY or upcoming FY)?

Trying to clear these doubts to know whats going on in the event of emergency  blush.gif
*
Yup as dividend given once a year only. That's why I maintain about rm100 inaide my ASG so that can get the dividend next yrar, then sell it off once klci goes up.

So if you withdraw all before dividend date, still get anything or not?

Instead leave min balance to wait for 'tat moment of time'  icon_idea.gif

That's what I thought cause the person who asked the questioned said open and closed account within 5 months time.
